Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Ok and I want to deal with this in a serious manner, what is it with all the Moveon hubbub then. Do you really want that kind of support hung around your guys head.
The line I always hear about RP is he has principals. Will he eschew the support of this group?

“anti-war moonbats encouraging Paul supporters to join them”
How do you get from this a bash against Ron Paul? Are the anti-war moonbats not encouraging the Paul supporters to join them?
To me, this does not look like a bash at Paul or his supporters, but a concern about the politics and other problems of moveon.org.

What, am I typing Chinese?
Where is your proof that Yellow Paul would win "hands down" if polling firms called cellphones?

Those are some great posts. Here's an interesting video from a military supporter of Ron Paul. He's serving in Iraq. This is the first of maybe a half-dozen videos we'll be seeing from active-duty troops who support Ron Paul.
The video is of medevac troops. We have a lot of supporters in the medical corps. Ron Paul himself was an Air Force flight surgeon in Vietnam.

This was all Bush & Company's doing. Ron Paul had nothing to do with it, and if he had been in charge, I doubt that this disastrous war for oil would have happened.
Blaming everything on Bush and thinking the Iraq war was over oil - a sure sign that you are a moonbat. What, is it slow over at DU today?

Couldn't we make it about oil since the prospect of democracy or human rights there are so remote? I'm sick of these high prices that have skyrocketed during the war.

I don't know the "we" you're referring to who have the "wrong idea", and I won't lose sleep over it.
I'm not part of "Move-On", whatever that is. I'm a lifelong conservative who is absolutely disgusted with GWBush and his neocon handlers who are destroying what was once a great America.
I don't believe that invading Iraq was to "free the Iraqi people", or any of the other lies we were told, and few Americans believe it either. Our children are getting slaughtered over there needlessly in what will be an endless war to secure oil rights and power.

You meant Karstan and maybe three other members of an online Meetup group that is self-organized and has no connection with the campaign? And I don't think the MoveOn people like Ron Paul much. RP is an old anti-communist type and a lover of liberty. Not exactly MoveOn's cup of tea. Though I rarely patrol the liberal websites, I notice people making quote from them here that their leading posters and commentators are telling them to stay away from Ron Paul.
So, would Ron Paul have to run a national television campaign against Karstan and his little invasion of the MoveOn's? Would that be enough for you?
