Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Oh, so my opinion regarding the throwback you’ve decided to follow means that I’m not capable of rational thought. You picked the guy to lie down with, and when you lie down with dogs you wake up smelling like one.
..in time I believe many of the well-meaning, but uninformed supporters will peal off—leaving the chaff, which you couldn’t tell apart from Lyndon Larouche types...
I didn’t see where he specifically was called any names, but of course it’s possible I missed something.
In other news, Duncan Hunter is probably not going to be nominated but no one will ever imagine that he is other than a first rate patriot and an honest man. Unlike Dr. Demento, Mr. Hunter does not play footsie with Al Qaeda as its leading "American" spokescreature in time of war, snuggle up to George Soros and moveon.org, nor pose for holy pictures as a "fiscal conservative" while larding up his local lobbyists and special interests by demanding earmarks as enthusiastically as anyone else in Congress while cosmetically voting against the main bill to gull the suckers nor does Mr. Hunter play make believe "constitutionalist" while having not a single clue on the subject.
Hopefully, Duncan Hunter will be VPOTUS or SecDef in the next GOP administration starting 1/21/09 and El Ron Paul will move to Teheran where he belongs after his defeat for renomination to Congress and forced departure (kicking, screaming, self-deluding) from American public life. When Duncan Hunter retires from public life, he will be missed by the American people. PaleoPaulie will be missed by George Soros and George McGovern.
PaleoPaulie's supporters taking up the "We were cheated by Diebold" mantra (and actually filing lawsuits to that effect) of the radical left does nothing to enhance Baghdad Paulie's reputation either.
Please contact MoveOn at the link below and ask them to highlight Ron Paul as an Anti-War, Anti Patriot act candidate.

This is what I wrote them:

Dear Move On
I am a Republican Move On member.
Ron Paul is the only Anti War Republican running for President. I think MoveOn should highlight this to its membership.
While MoveOn members might disagree with his stance on other issues, the War is something we agree on. Ron Paul has the guts to stand up during debates to Rudys and Mitts lies and fear mongering and tell America to get out of Iraq. He also teaches Republicans about blowback and the follies of preemption. MoveOn should point out that effort, and maybe even support him.
A great video is the following where Ron Paul stands up to Rudy Giuliani.
Ron Paul vs. Rudy Guiliani at the Republican Debate
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKITUOl0NBc
Lets not forget Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and John Edwards all voted for the Iraq War - endorsing Hitler’s doctrine of preemption. Hillary also voted for the Patriot Act, which Rep. Paul has opposed. He has more in common with MoveOns members than most of the Democrats.
Thank You,
A Republican MoveOn Supporter

Oh, some of the Paulies are more vicious to those of us who are in Iraq than they are to anyone else.
I've had several of them accuse me of being in it for the money, which tells volumes more about their personalities and what motivates them than it does about the people they are trying to insult.
They take how they would react in a particular situation and they project it on to others.
It's truly disgusting, but I realize they're socially maladjusted, likely unhappy, lonely, not very productive and are probably a chore to be around, so I just laugh at them. ;-)
They don't have a clue what Iraq is really like and they could never, ever understand how the mission gets into one's blood and try as you might to pull away, you keep being pulled back because of the progress being made and because of the fascination in having a 50-yardline seat for history being made.
But people like you vastly outnumber those types and that's what counts.
VIDEO: Cindy Sheehan Says Ron Paul Governs With Integrity
Come on, you had to know that was coming.......
well, my point in posting those excerpts of George Washington’s farewell address was to suggest that the general stated principles could apply to the middle east today, and in fact, the past few generations of american ‘policy’ there. We’ve been supporting dictators, dumping American tax dollars and weapons there and backing differing factions in the constant ad hoc regional conflicts since the independence of those states.
I hate to post this, cuz I’m not a huge fan, ideologically, of the daily show, but:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/08/23/daily-show-three-generations-of-america-to-the-rescue/
there is some truth to the above video, IMO.
It is also somewhat illustrative, IMO, that the disagreements here on FR with Paul’s positions are, generally, limited to certain aspects of his foreign policy. I assume there is very little, domestically, Freepers would have against his record or policies. I happen to think domestic policy is more important than foreign.
..Paul has a cult-like following--which will explode all over anyone who challenges or questions him
I discovered this with a simple video over on YouTube.
BTW, take care over there...
So you don't think the weakness of Bush Sr's. positions had anything to do with his poor showing in '92. If ol' Ross hadn't been there by gum we would have had good ol' milquetoast Republicans like God wanted us to right? A politician's position shouldn't have anything to do with why he doesn't get votes, we as citizens should be thankful the parties allow us to vote for who they nominate? That about the gist of it?
The only thing that would have happened if Perot hadn't been in the election is one of two things. Clinton's success would have been higher or the number of voters turning out would have been lower. Bush had no chance as he was a poor successor to Ronald Reagan to begin with.
PaleoPaulie will probably be co-hosting a show “Truthers Unanimous” with Alex Jones on Air America come January 2009.
Well most of us here, the vast majority of us, are very proud of You! and Dave, and all our guys over there. And the girls too!
I say quit being so sensitive. It’s not my fault the DNC fails to pay you overtime.
Well said. It's sad that because a person disagrees with some of Ron Paul's ideology, they are called "Ron Paul-hater," or something along those lines.
I have never, ever said I hate Ron Paul. "Hate" is a word I use very sparingly if ever. I do not agree with Ron Paul's desire to cut and run and I never will support a cut-and-run advocate. But I have had many RP supporters casually accuse me of hating or despising him because of my dissent from him on foreign policy issues.
As for conservatism, I agree with you there as well. I can't get behind Rudy or Mitt for president and cringe every time I hear that one of them is doing well in polls.
Duncan Hunter is the guy I'd really like to see come on strong, and failing that, I can support Fred Thompson.
It's still so early yet; I'm just watching and assessing now.

LOL
You’re so typical.
Master of the obvious, I am.
Petronski: abcdefg, a paleoPaulie supporter, wants to see the Wylers. IIRC, you can show abcdefg the Wylers.
I absolutely agree. I'd really like to see our country's borders and ports secure first and foremost. Any other efforts are useless without security there.
I'm heading back into it. This is my last "free night."
But it sure was a lovely break from it all. And I didn't feel a temperature over 80 F the entire time. :-)
