Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Are these specifically your properties?

Get yourself a dictionary and look up "plagiarism." Then, look up "class." You don't seem to understand either one.

I go to a blue-state, urban university--I can't pick up my dry-cleaning or get a cup of coffee without encountering moonbattery.

I don't believe the truthers supporting Paul do so because of this particular belief; rather, their questioning of 9/11 and their support for Paul share a common root cause: a distrust of today's massive, monolithic federal government, which has proven time and time again that the only things at which it's competent are cronyism and dishonesty. This distrust of government--a healthy degree of which, I should add, used to be a core tenet of conservative philosophy--combined with the truthers' pet prejudices, is what leads to the incoherent theories the people at DU have so come to know and love today.

Is it fair to hold these people against Ron Paul? During past elections, FReepers have been quick to distance Bush from the extremists supporting him. I'd like to think we can all adhere to the same standard with Paul, establishment candidate or otherwise.

That’s because half the Ron Paul supporters on FR belong to MoveOn, and just post here to stir up trouble.

Really?

Prove it.

>Give me a good solid conservative and I’ll back him.<

Here is the one and only consistent conservative candidate, who has been fighting for America for 26 years in Congress, and Vietnam before that. His credentials qualify him for Commander in Chief, thus transcend party to embrace his country. Innately honest, and with optimal integrity, Duncan Hunter has universal appeal.

Give him a listen!

I like Duncan Hunter. If he can get his numbers up where he can be ‘the’ candidate, I’ll vote for him. I will admit I haven’t followed him closely for the last few years, and have based my opinion on the sound bites I’ve heard over the years.

Exactly.

The more facts that are brought out re L Ron Paul,
the Paullites continue to follow him as those who followed
Hitler in the 1930s.

No it’s not. Paul wanted the Iraq war declared constitutionally and then our troops fight without Washington tying their hands. And no nation-building or police action.

I bet if Paul would have been president on 9/11 he would have declared war without waiting to see what the “international community” thinks. Plus he’d secure the borders.

Sorry, I was looking toward the future, not the past. If Kookcinich were magically made POTUS tomorrow, he’d order our troops out of Iraq immediately.

Ditto Ron Paul. The reasons do not matter, the end results would be the same. A lost war, a people slaughtered by the millions by extremists for having the audacity to want freeedom.

EEE says: "It's not about winning. Paul is creating a movement. The GOP will be stronger and more conservative because of it." Well, if he means the GOP will be stronger and more conservative because Ron Paul starts the crazy parade and takes his followers with him out of the party, EEE has a point!

Some of Dr. Paul’s supporters are quite on the fringe.

The thing is, he has to court these people in order to get elected. I think he will eventually say something so outlandish that it shall sink his candidacy.

They’re already slaughtering each other, and they’ve made it well clear by now that they don’t desire what we define as freedom. Under Ron Paul, we could at least stop losing American lives and dollars in Iraq’s internecine battles.

Mr. Jazzy and gidget7 - Both of you mentioned that you are opposed to using Nazi references and liberal gimicks. Does this apply only to Ron Paul supporters or to such bile spewed in this post?

I support Ron Paul's candidacy because I believe he is rebuilding the old Reagan coalition which will inevitably help Fred Thompson or whoever the GOP nominee is, if Fred's the GOP nominee since most of his views are similar to Paul's.

Recent comments I received during an email exchange with a Ron Paul fanatic:

I think that Fred Thompson has a real chance at the Republican nomination due to one and only one fact, the New World Order Globalist controlled propaganda media is pushing for the man........ and Republicans as well as most Americans can't think past what CNN or FOX tells them.

That said....... you can take me off your political email list.....I am done with the political thing...... America as we knew it is finished and America will get what it deserves.

Later, he wrote:

I would be of even stronger opinion than I was then that Fred Thompson is backed by the same One World Order dudes. He is definitely a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Sounds like you and this guy aren't on the same page about Fred Thompson.

I happened to watch the History Channel show about debunking the 9/11 conspiracy people. At one of the “9/11 was an inside job rally”, I saw a Ron Paul for President sign. Did anyone else see it?

Maybe Ron Paul’s next speech will be about his support of the “9/11 was an inside job” movement?

I’m sorry, to disrespect the memories of those who lost their lives on 9/11 like that makes me ill.

If you look at my other posts, he just confirmed what I said in the first place. Paul is designed to give the GOP a cold, and make us too sick to win in 08.

On the left we call them useful idiots. I think on the right we may need to call them useless idiots.

EEE is a prime example if he has really been here this long.

Makes me think of the bong hits for Jesus idiot.

That is around 50 people per city. LOL!!! Are these really cities or divided up municipal districts. Most moveon wackos more than likely live in densely populated areas.

Are these specifically your properties?

Petronski came up with the whole (hilarious) Wyler's idea and the Flavor Alert System.

You didn't just use a few graphics; you took his exact idea and tried to pass it off as your own.

Shameful.

By the way, whenever I "borrow" someone else's graphic on FR, I always either credit that person or ask permission to "steal" it.

Common courtesy.

I used the word “eventually” for a reason. As in, it hasn’t happened yet.

But I believe it will.

Ron Paul = Ross Perot

He is being pushed by the dems so as to sabotage the GOP. It could work just like Ross worked.

Amen, except Perot was better looking, more articulate and smarter.
