Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

"The administration sat around and diddled on Iraq trying to build up a "consensus" from the "international community." Paul knew exactly where it was going & that's why he voted against it. That's far different than Afghanistan when the objectives were clear and we needed to strike back." OH, OK so according to you and Ron Paul we only have to follow your interpretation of a "Consitutionally declared war" when the objectives are not clear? If the objectives are clear, we can ignore the Constitution? ROFLOL!

"So you haven't answered why Bush didn't simply declare war against Islamic terrorism from the get-go...." 1. You can't declare "war" on a general problem. 2. I think the declaration of war is a simple matter of semantics anyway. You, apparently, only think it is a matter of semantics when you support the war!

"I just love quoting you quoting me. Call it a weakness." Cute. Now how about addressing my response to that quote:

LOL! And is that the same "message" he trots out at the Moveon.org events? Not according to what he posted!

“Maybe EEE. I don’t think I used a guilt-by-association argument, not a favorite of mine generally.” Post 128 and 138 sure sound like whines to me. No, you didn’t use the term “guilt by association”, but that is essentially what you were saying. You were calling him a “nut” and suggesting it might have even been some dirty trick set up to make Paul look bad. Clearly, the story that a Paulbearer was recruiting moonbats at a Moveon event was something from which you wanted to distance the Ron Paul movement.

When someone says that WW I was not a concern of the US then he is a total lunatic and not worthy for discussion.

Oh come now. This I have to hear. Why was it so important to send our boys over there? It was the last of the colonial wars, with some serious trade issues (based on protectionism) tossed in for good measure.

I want to know why it was so important to remove a monarchy and establish a democracy that could be used at a later date by a crackpot racist. Hmmmmm, that sounds vaguely familiar....

A liberty driven constitutionally restricted fed.gov should not be debatable. But I’m witnessing many here (on a conservative forum,) as well as the majority of liberal voters, viewing our future proper as continuing down the road to a socially progressive quasi communistic like totalitarian state.

In the end, we've traded a small-government party in the pre-Bush era which made small but significant limitations on the growth of the liberal statists for a big-government party fighting a guns-and-butter war, itching to attack Iran and with our troops and reserves stretched to the limit.

FreeRepublic is hardly recognizable these days. No vets threads, few gun threads, advocacy for big-government, party-over-principle at every turn. We've lost many of those who were so extremely skilled at deciphering executive orders (within minutes of their publication) and unraveling subtle and hidden libmedia bias.

Still, I stick around, hoping we'll return to our pro-Constitution, small-government, pro-liberty roots. My hope is sustained by the fact that JimRob has never really retreated from those ideals for the forum. I begin to think we'll rediscover all those virtues only when all three branches of government are held by the evil Dims and we see a President Hillary wielding the power we've granted and encouraged the public to accept from Bush.

I know, I know, consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds...LOL.

We’re having great luck with that.

You need a lot more luck if you expect Ron to win.

Over the years an enclave of liberals have invaded this site. The Bush groupies are overwhelmingly liberal.

Hence, the site has become a target rich environment for conservatives. It’s interesting to watch these liberal invaders once challenged to twist-contort-squirm and thrash about violently poorly attempting to deny their progressively socialistic liberal leanings.

So yea, it’s still fun even after all these years. :)

The link you gave me had things ALL OVER THE PLACE.

If you have direct links to Rudy or whoever being part of NAMBLA or being gay or what ever, give them to me.

If you think you are making ground breaking finds by saying that mayors of huge liberal cities march in some strange stuff as part of their job to represent EVERYONE, I agree, they do that.
That does NOT shock me. I think you can’t be elected in any large city these days as mayor if you piss off people.

I doubt Rudy knowingly or even a Hillary would knowingly try and promote Nambla. More than likely they would both have no clue about who all is marching in these things.

For all they know there could have been a Christians for Charlie Manson group marching there and hardly anyone would have known. Lots of strange birds march in big city parades these days.

Not liberals per se. Most do hold partisan positions. They are partisans with a noticable leader fixation. If the leader says something, then it becomes the definition of conservative principle, regardless of what the party always stood for.

I think conservatives should hold certain non-negotiable and unchanging principles and never deviate regardless of partisan games in D.C. or the latest liberalism from the Rockefeller wing in collusion with Teddy Kennedy.

I would posit that in 2009, if the Dims win all three branches, they will unify around Rush/Sean/Mark/Laura (primarily Rush) and become the biggest conservatives around. It will be an almost magical transformation.

I wish they were those guys now, before it's too late. Again, it's that whole consistency hobgoblin fetish I have...

Good Conservatives post on this thread? How do you tell them from the Leftists and Democrats? For the most part, they all sound alike to me.

Does this help any? Lots more where that comes from. This is one of the two gays that he lived with and that he kissed goodbye every morning before going to work at City Hall.

Giuliani at Gracie Mansion in 1997 dancing with Howard Koeppel,
one of the openly gay couple Giuliani lived with, after ditching
his wife and kids to be with his mistress.

“Over the years a enclave of liberals have invaded this site” You mean like Karsten? The guy who just joined here yesterday after being the focus of this thread? The guy who bragged on the Paul Meetup site about being a member of Moveon.org and bragged about organizing a Moveon.org anti-war rally and then came on here to tell us that he cares about conservative principles?

Listening to Petraeus over you is patronizing?

No, your original comment was patronizing. I never pretended to have more knowledge of Petraeus or military strategy based upon 3 weeks of boot camp.

You’re beyond arrogant.

Much better than being a repetitive hit-and-run poster with no original posts or substantiative arguments.

You couldn’t run a platoon, but you’re to be believed on Grand Strategy.

I never said I could nor do I want to.

No wonder you’re a Paulistinean.

Glad to be on board. Finally, someone who believes in the Constitution again.
