Me too. Outrageous.
Kitty Genovese
Gives new meaning to “Neighborhood Crime Watch”.
Those who ignored this woman’s cries for help are guilty in the eyes of God, if not in the eyes of the law.
Somali immigrant Rage Ibrahim...
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Furthermore, I don't know where you live, but where I live, if I call 911, I would be able to watch Gone With the Wind twice before anyone would show up. That's just how it is sometimes. Many people move very slow; they're not necessarily uncaring.
Pffft, I’m not at a loss for words. This is the natural result of the nanny state mentality. Disarm yourself and others, and then when a neighbor needs help, you have a great excuse to do nothing and wait for the police. This is the nanny state folks, the liberal dream-world where you don’t have to do anything for anyone, just call Auntie Sam.
In the article: “...Somali immigrant Rage Ibrahim, 25,...”
Ah, the rapist was a Muslim. The neighbors then may have been his cousins or people terrified of being cut to pieces if they cut involved.
Still, that’s no excuse.
Ever notice how these incidents tend to show up in ‘nice’ liberal places like Minnesota and NYC?
Even the most pusilanimous FReeper would at least have called 911.
Absolutely reprehensible. Those people are as complicit in the crime as the perpetrator.
The surveillance video clearly showed men and women looking out their apartment doors or starting to walk down the hallway before retreating as the woman was assaulted for nearly 90 minutes
Guess none of them had a gun. /sarc
Hope one of them at least called the police.
That particular neighborhood isn’t known as a hotbed of conservatism.
hmmm... It doesn't take 90 minutes to get car keys away from a drunk. http://www.answering-islam.org/Index/L/lying.html
The common Moslem belief is that it is allowable to tell a falsehood on four occasions:
1st, to save one's life;
2nd, to effect a peace or reconciliation;
3rd, to persuade a woman;
4th, on the occasion of a journey or expedition.
A quote from a favorite movie of mine, The Boonedock Saints:
“..we should all fear evil men, but there is another evil we should fear more, and that is the indifference of good men.”

A man inside told police he didn't open the door or look out, though he said he called police
However...
Police found no record of the call, according to an affidavit for a search warrant filed in Ramsey County District Court.
Classy.
It is the Kitty Genovese story all over again. Not being funny but the first thing that came to mind when I saw the story on the news was the old Phil Och’s song “Outside of a small circle of friends”
Look outside the window, there’s a woman being grabbed
They’ve dragged her to the bushes and now she’s being stabbed
Maybe we should call the cops and try to stop the pain
But Monopoly is so much fun I’d hate to ruin the game
And I’m sure it wouldn’t interest, anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends
I gotta wonder at the slowness of the cops response. And any of the neighbors who ignored the incident will answer for it one day, if not in this life then in the next.
