The following letter was sent to Senator Warner after his comments urging President Bush to start an Iraq troop withdrawal:
Senator Warner,
It wasnt that long ago when I saw you and a whole bunch of other Senators sitting around the table at the confirmation hearing of General Petraeus. One after another, you and others uttered your words of wisdom and wished the General Godspeed I wondered what the General was thinking at that moment, whether he shared my suspicion that he was being sent there TO FAIL, thereby giving you and others a Get Out of Iraq Free Card. Well, I guess he didnt quite cooperate, did he? Ill bet you and your colleagues never guessed back then that he just might turn things around. I suspect that the Brookings report about changing tides in Iraq came as an unwelcome surprise, complicating the issue, and raising the stakes for the upcoming report to the Congress by General Petraeus. So Im not surprised at your preemptive strike on the General. Home by Christmas? What soldier in combat wouldnt like to be home by Christmas? What a shallow, insincere piece of political bait. Well, General Petraeus is constrained from expressing his true feelings about the knife you just stuck in his back. But Im not. So let me state in all earnestness, THE SENATE IS NOT WORTHY OF OUR SOLDIERS IN IRAQ, AND YOURE NOT WORTHY OF GENERAL PETRAEUS. The soldiers and he deserve better.

BRAVO! What a great letter!!!
And I do thank you for sending it!
I just pray more will write to him to tell him like it is!
Do you think his staff will ever let him read it?
In those offices of our elected officials stands the gatekeepers!
They are posted there to keep the punny citizens from talking to the omniscient officials!
Write them anyway! The volume should tell them something!
Well said Stanley. Very welll said!
The people of Virginia seem to have a very poor track record in picking their US Senators.
,,,whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."
That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand that. John Warner is apparently among them.
I’m calling for the immediate withdrawl of Warner from Washington!
Hey Warner, go home to your rest home and drool you old assclown.
Kudos to you.
[Mr] T
Just tried calling his office. No answer yet. Voice Mailbox is full!

First let me say I hope the message gets through.Precise to the point. As Mr T says everyone should write a letter to him. Second it is time to get RID of Rhino’s!!!Come election time oust all Rhino’s!!!

He is a embarrassment to the people of VA. as well as those clowns in Northern VA. who seem to pull the strings in the commonwealth at election time.
The migration of people to Northern Virginia is a direct result of DC being the center of the universe. The Maryland counties that border DC ahave been brilliant blue for years. BIG government is here to stay, and I don’t see how voting preferences will ever change, when the majority of voters owe their income to the government.
Dear Senator Warner:
I'm writing to express my outrage at your latest effort to undermine our mission in Iraq. You appear to have joined the cut-and-run Democrats who have been giving aid and comfort to the enemy for the past two years -- and if you don't think that your actions give "aid, comfort and encouragement" to our enemy than I think it is time you resigned your Senate seat.
I don't expect a reply to this email and if you are going to send me a rationalization of your actions -- please, spare me and the taxpayers any wasted effort and expense. I don't believe it and I think you are doing a terrible disservice to our troops, to this Administration, to your constituents, and to our country -- much less the people of Iraq who have put their faith in our country. Apparently, their faith was a foolish act with "leaders" such as yourself.
Respectfully,

Fantastic letter! Thank you for taking the time to send a letter to him, letting him know how many of us feel.
Unfortunately, on the last go-around, Virginia passed on a real conservative (George Allen) and elected a macaca (Jim Webb) in his place.
Go figure!
Another great letter. You guys really tell it like it is to the doddering old fart. I hope he reads it and comprehends the words; though I think he is suffering from some form of senile dementia. No, I’m not kidding.
I’ve sent him emails and received reply letters. Albeit, unsatisfactory reply letters.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I sent him two emails yesterday....the first discussusing his foolish remarks and telling him it was his time to pull out of the senate. The second email was a recap (from newsbusters.org) on his becoming the latest media star and congratulating him for making the situation about him and not about the success of our troops. Senator/General Warner has done more harm than good on numerous occasions, and this is a prime example.
I told him he can do one thing, he can defund or shut up. He really has become a fool in his old age. He is 80 now, too old to serve in the Senate; it is time for him to draw down his “senatorial” contributions...the public needs to know that his presence in the Senate is not an unending commitment. Fool.
BTTT
Thank you for writing this letter.
