DRAW A GUN? GET SUSPENDED
Nealz Nuze ^ | Aug. 22, 2007 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 08/23/2007 7:05:37 AM PDT by Turret Gunner A20

In Arizona an eighth grader was suspended for 5 days from his government school. His crime ... drawing a picture of a gun on a piece of paper.

No ... we are not kidding you. This is a government school .. you should know by now that this is what government schools do.

The Chandler Unified School District in Arizona actually considered the gun "a threat." Craig Gilbert is the director of secondary education. He says that there is a range of punishments that administrators can give for "implied threats."

Unfortunately, privacy laws prevent the public from accessing information including the drawing itself. Come on now. Even if we could see the drawing, how "threatening" would it have to be to get suspended for an entire week?

Is this really what they had in mind when government educators created the notion of "zero tolerance"?

Wake up folks. These are our 21st century American government schools. They aren't worth a crap (pardon the expression). They exist for one purpose, to provide jobs for government union school

Deep in your hearts each and every one of you know that the private sector could be doing a better job, and you're also deeply embarrassed, even if you won't admit it, that you have turned your children over to this hideous system to be, or so you think, "educated."

There is no one entity that is more responsible for the decline of our great country than our system of government education.

We have a picture of the gun on another thread. Very menacing. Very scary.

Whoa! Good thing I’m not in school these days. In “art” class in Junior High, we had a teacher who didn’t care what we did as long as we “expressed” ourselves (she was busy during class expressing her love for the little flask she kept in the drawer). So we’d spend the class drawing fighter jets launching missiles (which to this day is the only thing I know how to draw).

Today, that would probably get me the death penalty.

LOL. A boy drew a gun. On paper. Not as in a quick draw or drew his weapon, but like a picture of a gun.

Man oh man.

Will they expel girls for drawing little hearts above the letter “i”?

With us it was RAID installations and flying fleas. We had come up with elaborate rules for a game and drew the results.

I’ll bet there are books in the school library with pictures of guns. Let’s demand the librarian’s head!

No, let’s demand the principal’s head for hiring her.

The liberal, leftist government “education” system at work. Our kids cannot add two and two, but they know how to treat queers and learn they cannot draw a picture of a gun. Next they will be suspended for drawing a picture of an American flag....

I was never much of an artist, but I remember crudely drawn guns with smoking barrells in my doodlings. They are trying to make boys into girlie-men.

I saw the picture (or a reasonable facsimile). It looked like it was drawn by a 6 year old. I expect better from a 13 year old. If I had caught him with that drawing in my class, I would have sent him to "art detention" where he could be taught how to draw more realistic looking weapons.

Don't forget the Massachusetts quarters with pictures of Minutemen that the kids bring to school as milk-money.

Actually that's their secondary purpose. Their primary purpose is to warehouse children while their parents work. This is because both the right and left insist on maintaining that it's perfectly okay for people to have children before they can support them without outside assistance, and as a result voters from all across the political spectrum continue to vote for politicians who support the concept of public schools and for massive municipal bond issues to finance those schools. But the right doesn't say that, you sputter? Yes it does. Try finding anyone on FR who thinks a young married couple with a high school education and already having trouble making ends meet without children, is absolutely flat-out wrong to go ahead and start having children. Virtually everyone here thinks that as long as you have a piece of paper from the government saying you're "married", then it's perfectly okay to start making babies. Let the taxpayers worry about paying for their education and medical care.

I saw that “gun” picture on the morning news, and I swear it looked more like a house with 5 windows and an open front door. If he’d’ve drawn a condom, nothing would’ve been said. If they’d stop this crap, and get back to teaching, maybe they’d produce graduates who can tell time on analog watches, know their multiplication tables up to 12, and be able to tell a noun or pronoun from a condom. I teach high screwl graduates and have seen the horribly poor quality of our public screwls.

Navy brat son, about 11, once left his drawing notebook in our church’s school. The delicate, sensitive, PC principal approached me and let me know of the violent nature of son’s drawings (guns and other weapons, robots, etc) She was afraid, you could see, of his murderous tendencies.
I was nice and gentle as I explained that, in our home, swords, guns, planes, robots, were all a part of their lives, they’d grown up around them and were not considered gory and scary. She was appalled.
My boys also grew up being able to identify different fighter/attack aircraft. What can I say? I’m a bad mom. heeheehee

And they want to force us to put our 4 year olds under their control so they can indoctrinate them? I don’t think so. I hope that all the parents of this school pull their kids. Put these teachers out of a job.

Flowers Are Red Lyrics
Artist: Harry Chapin
Album: Living Room Suite

The little boy went first day of school
He got some crayons and started to draw
He put colors all over the paper
For colors was what he saw
And the teacher said.. What you doin’ young man
I’m paintin’ flowers he said
She said... It’s not the time for art young man
And anyway flowers are green and red
There’s a time for everything young man
And a way it should be done
You’ve got to show concern for everyone else
For you’re not the only one

And she said...
Flowers are red young man
Green leaves are green
There’s no need to see flowers any other way
Than the way they always have been seen

But the little boy said...
There are so many colors in the rainbow
So many colors in the morning sun
So many colors in the flower and I see every one

Well the teacher said.. You’re sassy
There’s ways that things should be
And you’ll paint flowers the way they are
So repeat after me.....

And she said...
Flowers are red young man
Green leaves are green
There’s no need to see flowers any other way
Than the way they always have been seen

But the little boy said...
There are so many colors in the rainbow
So many colors in the morning sun
So many colors in the flower and I see every one

The teacher put him in a corner
She said.. It’s for your own good..
And you won’t come out ‘til you get it right
And all responding like you should
Well finally he got lonely
Frightened thoughts filled his head
And he went up to the teacher
And this is what he said.. and he said

Flowers are red, green leaves are green
There’s no need to see flowers any other way
Than the way they always have been seen

Time went by like it always does
And they moved to another town
And the little boy went to another school
And this is what he found
The teacher there was smilin’
She said...Painting should be fun
And there are so many colors in a flower
So let’s use every one

But that little boy painted flowers
In neat rows of green and red
And when the teacher asked him why
This is what he said.. and he said

Flowers are red, green leaves are green
There’s no need to see flowers any other way
Than the way they always have been seen.

Larry Elder was having a fit about this one yesterday.

He said the school officials were drawing a parallel between this and Columbine. Unbelievable.

Any parent that sends his children to modern American public schools is guilty of child abuse.
