The money quote below is from "One in four read no books last year" by Alam FRAM, Associated Press Writer.
"There was even some political variety evident, with Democrats and liberals typically reading slightly more books than Republicans and conservatives"
Pat Schroeder is a liar.
She is ... and a lying, nasty witch to boot. I can’t stand her, but I sense she’s getting ready for the Lib follies in ‘08.
Ugggh. Is SHE still around? I remember her as the one woman I hated listening too worse than Shillary! They are both fingernails-on-a-chalkboard, but PS was a bit worse.
Ya gotta add smarmy in there.
Remember those? Gawd .. what a disgusting shrew.
I saw no cross correlations based on politics between who read books and who did not.
Note that there were more respondents that identified themselves as Democrats than Republicans, but more respondents that identified themselves as Conservative rather than Liberal. So a slice of Demo’s think they are conservative. If they vote for the Socialist Hillary, they are sadly mistaken, and greatly confused.
So based on the results in the PDF file, Pat Schroeder is a big fat liar. She just made up that interpretation of the poll.
Yep, patsy the squint eyed schroder, was trying to forget that.
If you picked 30 people at random off the street, and added the number of books that they've read together, I'll most likely have read more books than that. I was a reading animal when I was younger.
I read millions of words a year on Free Republic, and various other informational Web sites. I don't have time to read dead tree repositories any more.
I'm fascinated by the books that I see people reading these days. Mostly escapist fluff.
I suppose that "counts" as "serious reading" to a clownette like Pat Schroeder...
As Anne Coulter would say, this is clearly why conservative books outsell liberal books /sarc
Among those who had read at least one book, liberals typically read nine books in the year, with half reading more than that and half less. Conservatives typically read eight, moderates five."
What they failed to mention is that 8 out of 9 books read by liberals is something written by Danielle Steele.
So liberals said they read more books than conservatives?
My thought is this poll simply means liberals are more likely to lie about it. Conservatives tend to be responsible to their conscience, while libs are hung up on appearing elite.
The proof is in the book sales.
By the way, I bet she didn’t mention anything about the reading contest between Rove and Bush that they have on a regular basis.
Doesn’t President Bush read aboout 100 books per year?? Mostly histoir.
Most libs have a problem keeping their colors inside the lines.
Pray for W and Our Troops
run patty run...bwhahaaaha
oops that didn’t work either.............
From what I saw, you couldn’t conclude that either. Those identifying themselves as conservatives could all be R’s or Independents.
How silly is THIS? It’s fairly obvious to all that leftists are stupid and do NOT read, else they would not BE leftists.
Ole’ Pat is a liar- but then, didn’t we all KNOW that already...?
Not to worry. I read 1-2 a week. And most aren't novels.
Good. You're holding up my share of the annual averages. :-)
Can I buy some book offsets?
