Am I the only one who thinks that the first cave in was caused by an earthquake and was intentionally covered up so as to be able to blame it on the evil mine owner.

Or may not be the site....after looking around the area, there are a few pig farms there, but nothing indicating mining.

Your tinfoil has slipped down over one ear. Recommend adjustment.

No, you are not the only one. I am withholding judgement, while the labor union spokesmen (with a grudge), media, etc., finish are trying to convict this mine owner without having all the facts.

Well, there is a circular looking natural landmark right next to the epicenter, so who knows?

Don’t know about your being “the only one” but I would guess that you are in the minority. Frankly, I think the mine owner who was doing the TV updates and apparently may have been giving operational input to the rescue operation would have better served himself, the miners, and the rescue effort had he re-cused himself. It was apparent to me at least, that he was much to emotional and not totally rational to be actively involved in the endeavor. My two bits...

I thought I read somewhere that there was an earthquake in that area that started the whole thing. Can’t remember link though... I thought I saw it here....

No, this one was over 100 miles west of the mine. Minersville is more towards Nevada.

Yeah. I think I was wrong now. The thing is, the morning of the mine incident, my E-quake extension on Firefox detected the 4.0 that was the cave in. #0 minutes later, we get the first reports ... so that’s what made me post it. A quake this minor, I would usually ignore.

I guess I haven't been following this close enough. I didn't know the mine owner was in question. I've seen him a time or two and was hoping someone was making sure he didn't push himself to a heartattack. He seemed very invested in the recovery effort.
Actually, I even thought it was a fact that some kind of earthquake, earth movement was the cause.

Last unofficial info revised that and blamed the cave-ins on the mining techniques.
