Elvira Arellano, the illegal Mexican immigrant who has avoided deportation for a year by taking refuge inside a Humboldt Park church, said today she plans to leave her sanctuary to participate in a new push for immigration reform in Washington.
At a news conference at the West Side church where she has been living for exactly a year, Arellano said she intends to use her status as a figurehead for the nation's estimated 12 million illegal immigrants to leverage support for more lenient legislative reforms.

It was not immediately clear when she would leave the church. She said today she would be on the Washington Mall for a prayer and fasting vigil Sept. 12. Speaking in Spanish and English, she called for a national economic boycott on that day to help bring attention to the plight of illegal immigrants.

I don't know why a church is legally able to give her immunity from the law. She should have been deported long ago.

The Bipartisan Open Borders Lobby will use her like a tool. Imagine the public outcry of sympathy for illegal aliens when she’s torn from the arms of her screaming son. The MSM will be sure to replay another Elian Gonzales moment 24/7 until the felony is forgotten and all of the new sympathizers are begging for her amnesty.

The only time you can make a citizen’s arrest and be on semi-solid legal grounds is if you detain someone who is in the commision of a violent felony and you can make a good argument you made the stop to prevent further injury. Aside from that you’d be facing charges or wrongful detention, possibly kidnapping, etc. Detaining an illegal alient would get you in more trouble than the illegal would face for being an illegal (what am I saying? An illegal alien would not only NOT be punished, but would be rewarded for being an illegal!).
Accordingly, a sympathetic ICE employee (there may be a freeper here) could do the detention and arrest job, then. It should be done away from demonstrations, cameras, etc. Such as enroute, after tailing her for awhile.
I know a motorcycle group WITH Chicago police officers and military vets and we talked about “liberating her from the church into ICE’s hands”.
I forwarded my buddies this. Id have no problem walking in,grabbing her by her hair and tossing her carcass down the stairs into the gutter then afterward kicking her fat -— into an awaiting deportation bus.

Supposedly “hard nose” federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has shown himself a craven, cowardly hack in this case. This woman has openly defied our laws and judicial decisions while trumpeting her contempt for our system. Other lawbreakers have obstructed justice by giving her sanctuary. Fitzgerald, with a keen eye for what’s popular with Chicago’s pandering illegal-enabling politicians, has failed to do his duty and arrest and remove this woman. He should be dismissed for dereliction of duty.
