Rudy Giuliani floated an extraordinary olive branch to bitter rival William Bratton, hinting he'd consider his estranged former top cop for a high federal post.....in this week's New Yorker magazine.....

Rooty hooking up with Bratton at this late date? Looks like Rooty is desperate to win.

Rooty unceremoniously tossed Bratton out of his top cop's job when Bratton became a media darling, lionized by the media, and invited to all the NYC A-list parties. His latest wife is Rikki Klieman of Court TV. Bratton divorced Cheryl Fiandaca---who became a NYC local TV news reporter.

Since Rooty's poll numbers fell about 25 points after he rolled out his third wife on ABC's 20/20, maybe Rooty will announce he will remarry his first wife (his cousin).

I actually know first cousins that are very happily married, not saying anything against it. Marriage between second cousins is frowned upon, don’t remember the particulars but something about 2nd cousins blood lineage being closer than 1st cousins.
The deal with Rudy is the didn’t know aspect for a protracted period. His and her families don’t speak of family relations ? ... Little too off the wall.
Personally I like the guy, and I’ve seen the before, during and after in NYC. A good mayor, lucky we had him, specially after Dinkins.

Rudy used that blood relation to have the marriage annulled by the Diocese of Brooklyn. He was married for more than ten years and then claimed not to have known about the relationship. I guess when the only folks at the wedding and holidays were his relatives he didn't catch on.

Now I believe that Rudy saved my city from the sewer it was becoming, but he is a mean vindictive person. He never, and i mean never, accepts responsibility when he is proven wrong, see the bunker in the sky. (BTW in that way he is like Bloomberg.) On 9/11 he did the job he was expected to do, just like the cops and FDNYs, and the transit guys who bussed people out, and the teachers who evacced 8,000 kids from lower Manhattan and got everyone of them home safely that night.

There is no way I vote for him for POTUS. Not just his position on guns and abortion. He's not up to the job.

Leviticus 18 lists the types of sexual relationships that are forbidden. First cousins is not mentioned. Where exactly in your Bible is first cousin marriage prohibited? Mine doesn’t seem to mention it.

To any who do not know. Bratton is the ultimate politician posing as a public servant This man is a damn weasel. Rudy has once again demonstrated his lousy judgement.

Los angeles Police Chief Bratton once told a caller on LA Radio who asked why he was not enforcing the law against illegal immigrants when his officers encounter them in their duties. Bratton snapped at the caller, telling him the LAPD was no longer in the immigration enforcement business, and if the caller did not like it, the caller could leave the state.

This was after this New York loser had just arrived here! He tells a LA resident to leave if he expects the law to be enforced.

I have never heard such arrogance in my life. The rest of this ass’s time has been spent kissing Villragosas butt and bowing to minority politics. Bratton is all that is wrong with politics masquerading as police work.

There's been a lot of Rudy-bashing on this board of late, some of it understandable considering his poor record on the immigration issue. But let's be reasonable for a minute:

If it becomes a choice between Rudy and Hillary next year, will all the Rudy-bashers on this board and throughout the conservative movement stay home to 'teach the Republicans a lesson'?

That worked so well last November, didn't it?

Sorry, regardless of the fact that Rudy publicly dressed in drag once, had multiple wives, and is not a strict anti-abortion dogmatist, he's still better than anything the Treason Party has to offer (hey, even Ronald Reagan married more than once). And he understands as good as anyone else in the field just how important it is that we prevail in the GWOT.

Let's face it: there are better choices than Rudy in the current field. I would love to see Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo make the 'first tier'. I hope Fred Thompson soon figures out whether to fish or cut bait. But if none of that pans out and Rudy ends up with the nomination, we all better hold our collective noses and get out there and work for his victory in 11/2008, because HRC as POTUS will spell the END OF AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT.
