Duncan Hunter's Iowa Straw Poll speech.
By the way, Tommy Thompson’s supporters have been very well behaved here, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. You’ve both been very respectful to the other candidates. : - )
No, what this says to me is we need to work a little harder, so Wednesday I'll be sending in another $100 to Hunter's campaign.
Odds and probabilities make zero difference when it comes to doing what is right. They do not register as factors in the decision-making process when it comes to right and wrong.
The fact you have been so vocal on this thread seems to suggest ulterior motives, as though you are taking pleasure in what you perceive as a failure. I'm not really certain what your motive is (covert support for another candidate? just need someone to talk to?) but the number of your posts seems to suggest more than the content of any given one. Of course, that is your prerogative.
Actually, BillyBoy has been a complete jerk as much as he possibly can. The other Tommy supporter, who’s name escapes me, but I think it’s something about Phil Collins or close to it, has been very respectful. BillyBoy, however, borders on JCEccles type asshattery at every chance he can find.
Naysaying does nothing to help anyone.
“what this says to me is we need to work a little harder, so Wednesday I’ll be sending in another $100 to Hunter’s campaign.”
WTG!!!!
And my check will be reaching him about now, too.
“Agree...... Hope all remember that as it narrows down to the final nominee and get behind him in an effort to win this thing.”
Yep, but I do have to say that I will vote 3rd party if it’s Rudy, but it won’t be. Rudy is going down in the polls, and as folks start paying attention, Rudy will be gone.
“We can be supremely confident that Duncan Hunter will not change his core beliefs just because it might get some more votes.
Another reason to vote for Duncan Hunter!”
Principled people support principled candidates.
>Ros, would you explain to everyone why a personal check is a much better means of contributing than a credit card?<
Sure, ‘Concerned Conservative’. Thank you for asking.
A credit card contribution means only 95% of the contribution goes to the campaign, because the cc companies skim 5% off the top of every contribution.
A personal check means that 100% of the amount goes to the campaign.
Again, to ensure this mighty warrior stays in the race, please
TODAY make a generous check out to: Hunter for President
And send it to:
Go Hunter ‘08
9340 Fuerte Drive, Suite 302,
La Mesa, CA. 91941-4164
And thank you all. :)
Giuliani will be there for a while I think but he’s no sure winner. I think Giuliani, McCain, Romney and Thompson the non-candidate will be the ones still fighting for the vote come Jan. 08. Of those four I think McCain may well be the first to drop because the funds appear to be drying up for him.
Iowa and NH may not be that important this cycle with the Feb. 5th super Tuesday vote coming so quickly after them. This will make the importance of money and state by state organization much more important this cycle. I just don’t see any of the less funded and 2nd tier candidates being viable come Feb. 5. I’d guess some if not most will drop out along the way prior to the actual primary voting start.
The only exception to all that with regards to less funded/2nd tier ranking is Paul. I think he’ll be in it until the bitter end [much like Keyes in 00] as he is operating on a shoe string type budget and will use his network of LP types to carry him through.
Just curious...... Assuming for the moment that Hunter is not going to be around for the primary votes which candidate do you think he’ll support if anyone. My guess is that he’d come closer to supporting the non candidate Thompson than any of the other top tier candidates. I don’t see him going 3rd party but could easily understand him being silent if it was a Giuliani nomination.
BTTT.... for later reading..
Good for you, Leximom! You’ve inspired me to also send Duncan Hunter another $100 this week! How about we all do that?
We aren’t crying in our beer because Duncan Hunter is going strong, positive and optimistic.

Rep. Hunter has kept his day job in Congress while also keeping up with a horrendous campaign schedule. He didn’t buy his votes like the other candidates did. He stands on his record and his word, which is as good as gold. He is living within his means, just as he’ll have the country doing if we support him all the way. GO DUNCAN HUNTER!
He is a dangerous nutbag wacko.
But his wife is in my prayers just the same. Get well soon, Mrs. Paul.
I inherited my mom’s positive attitude, if I may say so, and am looking forward to Duncan Hunter being the nominee, and our next president, so am not really looking beyond that.

Of course, Duncan Hunter is positive. He realizes this is not the national election. Some people are acting as if it is, and my check is in the mail literally.
Excellent synopsis.
so am not really looking beyond that.
HUNTER IS T-O-A-S-T
Unless Republicans coalesce around an ELECTABLE candidate NOW, like Rudy, Fred or Mitt, HILLARY WINS
amen
