Sgt. Brannon Jordan, who is still recovering from being shot by Hamilton that night, said he agrees with Rausch when it comes to having more concealed weapons, but added, "When I make contact with a person, I like to be the only one with a gun."

HA! At least he's honest.

“He said a metal detector screens people entering the federal building in Moscow, but that the county courthouse, City Hall and other public buildings in the county have no such systems.”

I work in a government building with security, and that just means that the security guard is the first one who gets shot; it’s like being the canary in a mine.

Ping tag for consumption.

Glad you found a longer article. Idaho Statesman just had a snippet.

FYI: www.idahostatesman.com has a poll on the front page related to this article.

In Colorado Springs Co. The El Paso county Sheriff's office has issued over 5000 concealed handgun permits. Boy do I feel safe, cause you really don't know who is packing. Our crime is down also, and at home we have the make my day law in effect. It's probably going to be a home invasion gone BAD!!

In the small town where I live in Idaho, many people carry and the crime rate is very low. In fact, the only murder in the past 10-years was committed with a knife and the guy got off on self-defense.

Oh, yeah. The Mayor heard from me on that one. Haven't heard back...

I believe that's the Sheriff who processed my own permit. Good to hear from him.

Thanks for the ping. FReeped the poll. More concealed carry is a good idea. The fruitcake mayor of Moscow needs to relocate to Chicago, Washington DC or New York City to enjoy the consequences of her gun banning attitude before trying to inflict it on the citizens of Idaho.
