Forty-Two
8/9/07 | 60Gunner

Posted on 08/09/2007 12:07:38 PM PDT by 60Gunner

I turned 42 years old yesterday. There are a few ways of looking at this age. A pessimist, of course, would say that I'm already halfway to 84. On the other hand, there is some significance attached to this age. For example:

I'm twice as much fun as a 21-year-old; I'm young enough to be naughty and old enough to appreciate it. My age also happens to be the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

It isn't so bad. Except maybe when I try to get into/out of my car, chair, bed, etc. and make the same oof! sound my dad made when he was 42. That gets a little irritating. And I have noticed that the women who flirt with me older.

But to a 70- or 80- year-old, I am still a "young man." I'll take it where I can get it.

Chesty, God bless ya. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service in a war that caused our country to screw you and your fellows of the honor that you richly deserve.

And thank you for gracing this meager vanity with your presence. I am humbled. /Gunner sends

Well thanks for your service, young man!

As you age further, you'll realize that low chairs and low cars are good. Low chairs have allowed me to slump to the floor and crawl to the nearest wall to haul myself up thereby dispensing with the crane.
:O)

LOL!!! No, but it may be in 20 years. Maybe we can hook up and tie-dye some shirts and groove out! :-)

Happy belated birthday 60Gunner! May the worst be behind you and all the best ahead! CodeToad: I am 42 and view it as the last year I can get away with having a mid-life crisis. I guess after that I need to act all grown up. Better get in the Corvette while I still can. You know what a woman says when she sees a gent squeezed into a brand new sportscar, his shellaced combover lifting in the wind?

"Sorry about your penis!"

Er, congratulations on that sporty new Mustang, 60Gunner!

Sorry man, I couldn't resist ...

Titan, what can I say? Well, lots, really, but I'll constrain myself to a "thank you."

Libertina, thank you, my dear friend.

I turned 37 in June. I was hoping to make it to 40 before I felt all sore for no reason some days

my dad is in his 60s. He just bought a Scion XB. the car that looks like a toaster.

but one of his first comments about it was that it is “easy to get in and out of”

Eddie Murphy said something about “member” control ... I digress! ;)

Debbie Harry is now a senior citizen, Billy Idol would be Billy Greybeard without a wee bit of help from the bottle. LOL!!

As my Mother In Law says, “life begins at 40!”
