Some of the ski fans who have patronized Telluride, Colo., now are calling the ritzy resort "the land of radical liberals" and canceling planned vacations there because the town board voted to approve an ordinance calling for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
One ski club of 175 people already has made plans to go elsewhere, another skier has threatened to sell his home there and another critic predicted the town soon would bow to Mecca.
"It's huge, unbelievable," said Telluride Mayor John Pryor. "Ski groups are canceling for the winter. Hundreds of people are bailing. The (town) website is flooded with people saying they're canceling their vacations here."

Maybe Ron Paul should retire here after he gets diselected in '08?
I’m always amused when the moonbats pull a stunt like this, and are shocked at the response that results.
This is a perfect example of why Liberals love ‘tenure’ folks. They are simply too stupid to make it in the ‘real world’ of capitalism, as this demonstrates conclusively.
“Liberalism”, at its core, is the denial of consequences for decisions and behaviors, and the drive to eliminate these consequences by making others pay for them.
It is headed for Ghost Town status.
I was one of those that cancelled a planned trip to Telluride. I dislike Bush’s foolish and stupid policies on quite a few fronts incl. illegal immigration.
However, I am not going to accept criticism of any GOPer from the moonbat left.

Yep. The political equal to ‘hiding in a crowd’ to avoid personal responsibility for one’s actions.
Just a glimpse of what a liberal totalitarian regime would look like.
The odds are...they lost 3k visitors this fall...which would be a slight issue for some hotels and businesses. By the end of next year...all will be forgotten I think. What you had...was a small segment but very vocal group in town...that have pumped this up. I doubt if more than 10 percent of the voters in the town would think this way. The amusing thing is...they really don’t have anything in the summer to keep them busy...so talking and acting like this...is the only accomplishment they can dream up.
Liberal drama queens getting what they asked for, good.
Even though this was a “government” speaking, “Free Speech” does have its consequences........
Hmmmm. I think in a service based economy like a ski resort, the danger is those that cancelled find a place they like much better - irregardless of the political stuff.
Its all about repeat biz with the ski crowd. So the long term financial implications aren’t to be trifled with, at the same time they are a bit hard to quantify.
Bottom line: Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Yeah, those "open, and accepting," and tolerant liberals. They are open, accepting, and tolerant of everyone's view just so long as those views agree with them, otherwise they will burn you at the stake.
I’m sure micahael moore can take a group of people from the fat farm he went to for a vacation there to ski...
Maybe the Dixie Chicks can get a gig in one of the downtown bars.....
This must be a real shocker to them. Liberals are under the impression that most people agree with their way of thinking.
A smart marketing manager from a competing resort would be smart to advertise, “(Name of the Resort) the Fair and Balanced Ski Resort.”
