I quote, you decide
by JohnHuang2
Seung-Hui Cho. Remember him? Hes the chap who shot up Virginia Tech back in April and left 32 people dead in two separate attacks, then offed himself. Want to know how the libbie wingnuts really felt about the gunman? Nothing more to see here, old news, move on. No hold on. Some quotes:
My heart aches. Of course I mourn the passing of the thirty-two Virginia Polytechnic University students, as do we all throughout the globe. Nevertheless, I cannot forget how my heart hurts for the thirty-third victim, the one the media never seems to count among those killed, (gunman) Seung-Hui Cho . . . Cho longed for comfort and company. All he received is chiding. Even in death, (gunman) Seung-Hui Cho is scorn. I am forlorn. . . Cho lived in shadows, deep and dark. He attended classes at a prestigious University. He was a scholar, a writer. Yet, he was shunned. . . As a child Seung-Hui Cho was ridiculed and bullyed. As an adult he hid; he hoped to avoid the taunts and teasing. . . Cho (the gunman) was a tormented soul . . . long-suffering spirit . . neglected man . . . This is not a time to teach fear. It is an occasion, an opportunity to reflect. Perhaps, we might learn to love every being, even those that appear to be different or distant. Seung-Hui Cho My Sadness for yours.
Thats straight from DailyKos. Not some stray comment on a thread, but THE featured Kos thread itself, titled, Seung-Hui Cho. I Mourn Your Life and Loss, by Kos diarist Bcgntn. This is the same DailyKos that Democrats running for president paid homage to over the weekend at the sites Yearly Kos convention in Chicago.
While were on the subject of caring and compassion, Kos diarist WinSmith, several weeks before the Cho thread, posted a featured Diary subtly titled, Why I Dont Care About Tony Snow, after Snows announcement in March that his cancer was back:
. . . why do I have to pretend Im praying for Tony Snow? . . . Why do I have to pretend I care about Tony Snow? . . . That I send out my thoughts to his family? I dont. I dont care about Tony Snow. At all. . . Hes not in my thoughts. I have no empathy for him.
WinSmith then went on to denounce the other side because of its raging, irrational hatred and because there is no logic in their universe. No empathy. But. WinSmith wants you to know he isnt saying hes glad Snow has cancer. He just doesnt care that Snow has cancer because Snow doesnt agree with WinSmith on foreign policy, taxes, gay rights, gun control, etc.
I never said that Tony Snow should die of cancer, protested DailyKoss Jon Stafford in his featured diary, posted on July 18, 2007. Nor did I say that I wanted him to die of cancer. All he said was that I really didnt care if [Snow] died of cancer. But in his April 9Th Kos diary titled, Tony Snows Illness: A Medical Prospective, this was Jon Staffords medical prospective: My first thought is: F- Tony Snow. As the Bush regimes propaganda minister and apologist he deserves whatever he gets, and worse. In an update, Stafford now admits he forgot he had wished death on Tony Snow. Jon Stafford is a Registered Nurse.
DailyKoss OCdem writes: Why is everyone afraid to say the obvious? Joe (Lieberman) is very religious and arguably cares more about Israel than the US. I think its that simple.
Lieberman is an AIPAC shill, replied Sonoftherepublic. Lieberman formerly [sic] a Democrat and now an Independent representing the state of Israel in the US Senate should be recalled by the voters he is failing to represent . . . the only two Dem candidates not already bought and paid for by AIPAC are Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel.
Explaining why liberals loved Saddam so much, Kos poster Scottsdale Jack notes that, To Lieberman and the rest of the Israel lobby, Saddam had to be removed because he dared to launch missiles at Israel during the first Iraq war.
Send (Lieberman) Burgers, matza ball soup, and Camels and maybe hell keel over of heartdisease [sic] before the clock expires, wrote rrheard.
Cheneys a big lizard that wont die, wrote another Koster after crushing news the Taliban failed to whack Dick Cheney in Afghanistan earlier this year. Personally Ive always thought a heart attack would be far too good for this career criminal, thoughtfully replied another Koster.
There was a time when the Democrats press chums reliably could conceal all of this stuff simply by not reporting it, but no more, thanks to Al Gores inventing the blog! Libbies can now let it all hang out, give their candidates a helpful push over the cliff, force them to pander to DailyKos and the rest of the Only-One-Square-Tissue-Per-Restroom-Visit set with promises to make America safe by teaching sex in Kindergarten, bombing allies, planting white flags in Baghdad, making nice with Iran, Syria, Castro, Chavez et al and impeaching or censuring moron Bush for sinking the Maine and staging the Gulf of Tonkin to launch an attack on Saddam! Thats a helluva winning platform.
If youre one of the oppo research boys for, say, Fred Thompson and you want to flush out Hillary down the road when she discovers shes a centrist again, just a click of the mouse and your toughest call to fill the latest 30-second spot is whether to go with Herselfs YouTube Kos convention macaca or her bragging to some other nut blog crowd about her vote to stop the Dictatortot from listening in on phone chats between some al-Qaeda type in Pakistan and some al-Qaeda type in Pakistan without a warrant.
If you want to know why libbie hangouts like DailyKos are adorned copiously with four-letter words and cheer-leading for the Taliban and al-Qaeda, the poor little darlings are just frustrated. Its a force thats defeated. Its a force that is frustrated. Its a force that is acting in cowardice, said Afghans Hamid Karzai about the enemy in his country, which sounds like the enemy in this country. American troop levels in Iraq are higher nine months after Pelosi & co. boasted theyd stop the war, they cant even get a non-binding resolution on Iraq through and Congresss approval rate is 14%, but Democrats are shooting for 3% or less. And blogs are all that libbies have to show for. Poor, poor libbies.
Anyway, that's...
My two cents

Hi Dolly, No, I haven’t had any eye surgery...other kinds though. I just had a bad case of pink eye. My doctor thought it was the allergy type, not viral or bacterial. It has cleared up very well and I plan to get hair done today.
Wanted to mention again, those dog pictures of yours are better than ones published in magazines, the water splashing and just the love the dogs have for the water and of course, your love for your precious animals!
Doctor did find one little problem (not connected at this time with eye) my sugar is high and he said I had to watch my sweets and carbs. I have always drank lots of cokes, no more for me except diet ones. Its always something, isn’t it, but at least we are on the right side of the grass.LOL~~

Hi, Dolly - I'm getting things pretty much organized, and as for the fonts - I had made a cd of those extra, pretty fonts I like, fortunately, so that I don't have to go search through other web sites to find them. Also, my other pc did finally boot at the shop for the techs, and I asked them to burn a cd of some of the pictures and other data that I didn't have installation disks for. That has been a big help - it's the pits when they back up the WHOLE hard drive and then put it all on the new pc. Been there before - it takes much longer to get rid of all the stuff you DON'T need!
Hope we're ALL back up to speed for a while now!

Billie, so glad to hear happiness with your new computer! They sure can drive you crazy when they don't mind~~ I have had lots of problems at times but thank goodness my son can work on it for me. Think this computer is 6/7 years old and I am surprised it is still in good shape. Tomorrow could be a different story, huh?

Flowers didn’t show up like they did on preview. I am going to practice centering just as soon as possible. Think I can do it but will have to see.

Think this computer is 6/7 years old and I am surprised it is still in good shape. Tomorrow could be a different story, huh? Indeed! I used my first and only other one for 10 years! Had it updated and repaired many times, but they could always fix it. Was really frustrating to have one less than two years old 'die' and they couldn't 'fix' it because the part they needed was "obsolete"!
You're doing great with your picture posting! Gets easier, doesn't it. :)

Flowers didnt show up like they did on preview. I am going to practice centering just as soon as possible. Think I can do it but will have to see. Never looks the same in preview here as it does when it's posted on the forum - think mostly because the preview box in the comment posting thingie is smaller than the actual comments posted on the forum. :(
I just looked at your source code, and it looks like you typed your comment, immediately followed by the command for the image without making a paragraph break. The only way to be sure your image is going to be "by itself" in your comment post is to add the
after your text and before your image. If you want it centered after your text, then you also have to "tell" it to center, by using the
command after the
(paragraph) command.
Don't let it frustrate you - just keep posting them - it'll be second nature soon. :)

I am, too! Thank you, Meggsie! I've been just scanning through some of the threads I've missed the last few days. Pretty, pretty posts you've made as we've come to expect from you. :)
You mentioned still not being able to resize photos I think, and that surprises me. (In bytes, I'm guessing?) Try the link below - I used to have it loaded on my computer, but have so many graphics programs, I eventually uninstalled it. It's a 'small' graphics editing program, free, and I'm pretty sure you can compress pictures in it. If you don't like it, of course you can always uninstall it. :)

Thank you, Billie. I love to do it.
.I suspect I am just not understanding the terms in my new program...
Thank you for the link..I’ll give it a try! I am getting better about searching and finding acceptable byte links though I resized like crazy when I was at my daughter’s Christmas..
Thank you for all the help you give.

Billie, it is astonishing that a computer would die before two years. May not want to speak of brands but I would like to know “what” died and what did you decide to purchase? Bet you are happy playing with the new one. As far as all that transferring material, that is Greek to me. Thank God for Barry or I couldn’t afford the service calls I would have to make like the trouble I had one time with a virus. He worked one complete day fixing it and re-doing everything.
