Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums and Rep. Barbara Lee of Oakland found themselves in the unwelcome spotlight this week over the letters of support they wrote on behalf of the notorious Your Black Muslim Bakery, but they aren't the only politicos who have supported the group over the years.
At the height of its power back in 1996, the splinter Muslim group - whose members were implicated in last week's slaying of newspaper editor Chauncey Bailey - got the city to approve an advance on a $1.2 million federal redevelopment loan to launch training program for health care jobs.
Within three months, the group had burned through $275,000 without turning out a single graduate.
They did, however, spend $650 a month to lease a Cadillac.
Another $44,000 supposedly went to consulting fees, $10,500 went for security and $7,500 for advertising on a local cable station, where then-leader Yusuf Bey had a weekly TV show.
When asked to explain what was going on, the Black Muslim Bakery cadre - in one of their typical tactics - marched in unison from the bakery to City Hall, then entered the council chambers like a precision drill team, lining up along the room's back walls.
They then asked for another $70,000 to keep the project going.
And they got it, with the council voting 6-2 to grant the funds - minus the money for the Cadillac.
"The message was very clear - we are watching you," said City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente, who cast one of the votes against the group's request.
The school never opened.
And the loan - one of several the council made that year to help disadvantaged businesses - was never repaid.

Just another, of many, anti-America front organization supported by our government. They have a great skill in getting us to fund their attacks on our freedoms.
The left loves this sort of thing, because its very name, Black Muslim Bakery, says that it is a hate-filled, anti-American separatist organization. Just what the left wants to promote.
Try opening a school called Your White Christian Bakery.
No wonder there is a nurse shortage. Who wou have thunk of having them trained in Blackl Muslim bakeries?
Black Muslims: Known for their fine cuisine, especially baked goods.

And the left wonders why people hate big government!
LOL!
You stated that correctly. Sad that taxpayers money went to such a disreputable group. Those council members should be held accountable.

“Most leftists are too effete to physically enforce their own ideology. This is why they need thugs to do it for them. Substantial portions of Hillary Clintons 1969 senior thesis are about the benefits of test(ing) whether the mechanisms of (Chicago) gang structures could not assist in shifting attitudes toward productive adult citizenship. (p. 34.) Hillarys mentor, Saul Alinsky, spent years working with Al Capones Chicago gang.”

Alinsky’s influence
Alinsky was the subject of Hillary Rodham’s senior honors thesis at Wellesley College, “There Is Only The Fight...”: An Analysis of the Alinsky Model. Rodham commented on Alinsky’s “charm,” but rejected grassroots community organizing as outdated. Once Hillary Rodham Clinton became First Lady of the United States, the thesis was suppressed by the White House out of misguided fear of being associated too closely with Alinksy’s ideas.[5]
Alinsky also had a significant influence on Barack Obama, who is a United States Senator and candidate for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. Obama particularly used Alinsky’s techniques while participating in Chicago community organizations in the 1980s.

Dang. They got lots of free government money
One wonders how much of this and other monies that have been returned to the U.S. Forces and Israeli forces in the form of bombs and bullets.
This just the tip of the iceberg.
If you want to see government funded hate America then check out the Charter Schools. The favorite pattern here is start sending muzzie kids to them. Involve the muzzie parents. Let the muzzie parents on the board. Enroll as many muzzies as possible. Watch the non-muzzies switch their kids to public schools. Grow the muzzies on the board. Get a few muzzies in leader positions. Force out or lay off all the non-muzzie teachers, and staff. Replace with muzzies. Teach hate. Cut back on the basics to save money. Complain that more money is needed. And finally, send all excess funds to al-Qaeda, Hamas, and other terrorist organizations.
If you don’t think this is going on then start checking them out. Start in Lackawanna, NY, where the head of the board of directors of the school was running a money laundering business and shipping the profits to Yemen in addition to action as the head of the charter school.
Barbara Lee is one of the reasons I left the Democrat Party. When she authored a bill to tax sugar drinks including juices because kids were getting fat, I called her office and told her that she was too dumb to be in office, and that I was changing my affiliation.
Democrats...the cult of deceit.
"Bean pie, my sister? Bean pie?" I used to hear this frequently from young black muslim males selling bean pies in DC.
I don't know if you've been around a lot of black muslims, or in black neighborhoods, but the black muslim bean pie is famous. Fine cuisine it ain't, but it is a tasty treat, similar to a pumpkin or sweet potato pie.
I grew up in a ghetto on the lower East Side of Detroit, of course we called it a slum.
I became very familiar with what we called “soul food”. I had bean pie and liked it. I can’t say the same for chitterlings - the smell of them cooking put me off completely.
