SANTA ANA Responding to a refusal by city leaders to declare the city a sanctuary for illegal immigrants, more than a dozen people gathered outside City Hall on Monday night to denounce recent immigration raids, accusing federal officials of "terrorizing" immigrant communities and breaking up families.
A coalition of local immigrant rights groups, including the Orange County Alliance for Immigrants Rights and the Front Against the Raids, announced a planned program to create a hot line that will notify people where and when immigration raids will take place. The program would also coordinate a support system for the families of deportee targets.
"We want to have a more organized effort to counter these attacks," said Jaime Conteras, a 20-year-old Filipino immigrant who now lives in Santa Ana. "We cannot let people trample on our rights."
During five days of raids in June, 175 people in Orange County were arrested on suspected immigration violations. The raids arrested 27 suspected criminals, including a man wanted for murder and a convicted child molester. Santa Ana was one of the targeted cities.

Come to Los Angeles, 1/3 of the population here is illegal.
Send these SOB’s home with their mayor.
Isn’t that aiding and abetting a crime? Like tipping off a drug dealer?
A couple hundred false alarms in Spanish or Tagalog ought to kill this program.
on an old container ship...without cleaning it...
There are many laws against this activity. Why is this a problem? Simply enforce the laws.
ILLEGALS don't have any rights!
I sent this to my local TV station, please do the same. Doubt if it will get air time but ya gotta start somewhere.
You’re absolutely right. The trouble is that the left has ingrained a belief in people that special privileges like affirmative action are ‘rights’. They are no such thing.
Not if you call in a phony report! Let an employer (and their customers) know just how many illegals they have working for them!
Three things need to happen to resolve the illegal immigration issue.
1. First and foremost, revoke automatic citizenship. Those born in this country to illegals must assume the citizenship of the parents. If one parent is here illegally, then the kid is illegal too. No more anchor babies.
2. Knowingly hiring more than two illegals (this allows for gardeners and nannys) will be a felony, minimum six months in jail.
3. Create a work program that allows foreigners to work in this country after they pass a security check. They must carry an ID card and cannot collect any government benefits. Most importantly, then must be exempt from the minimum wage law. We need our cheap labor to keep our food cost down.
Any question?
Isnt that aiding and abetting a crime? Like tipping off a drug dealer?
It is Felony Conspiracy a serious crime...
Of course they are illegal so it will not be enforced.

A felony requires a prison sentence of 1 year or more. Misdemeanors get a year or less in jail. Prisons are generally operated by the state or federal government. Jails are operated by cities and counties.

You’re right. My bad. Make it a misdemeanor. Six months minimum in jail.
I disagree with 2 and I disagree with the last sentence of 3.
on 2 - allowing the breaking of our laws regarding illegal immigration is never a good idea. Allowing such has helped put us in the mess we are in.....mho
on 3 - I agree, we need legal laborers. I truly believe this is what you meant by #3. Everything else in #3 I have no reason to begin an argument over.
We would agree entirely if these modifications were made.
Dear Asshat Protesters........
.... Illegals are NOT immigrants. They are criminals. Maybe we should give them home monitoring vs jail ?
Tijuana, Juarez or Nogales maybe........
Have a nice day.....
