The New York City Council, which drew national headlines when it passed a symbolic citywide ban earlier this year on the use of the so-called n-word, has turned its linguistic (and legislative) lance toward a different slur: bitch. The term is hateful and deeply sexist, said Councilwoman Darlene Mealy of Brooklyn, who has introduced a measure against the word, saying it creates a paradigm of shame and indignity for all women. But conversations over the last week indicate that the b-word (as it is referred to in the legislation) enjoys a surprisingly strong currency and even some defenders among many New Yorkers. And Ms. Mealy admitted that the citys political ruling class can be guilty of its use. As she circulated her proposal, she said, even council members are saying that they use it to their wives.

Ronery, I’m so Ronery........
even council members are saying that they use it to their wives.
Says a lot about their city council, then, don’t it?
Indeed, what else are they doing as a group?
The whole world wonders....
It puts erotion in ebasket.
First amendment anyone? I guess that is as dead along with the so called “n” word. Will rappers stop using it or, more to the point, will blacks as a group stop using it on each other? I would say any ban of this sort is unconstitutional.

What's Hillie gonna do?
Excuse me, you mean Smokey Robinson and the Miracles (first and most famous)
Yes I Know they did it first, but it was covered by the Temps and the Supremes almost simultaneously........
The only way a name can hurt anyone is if that person gives the namecaller the power over them to let it hurt.
Just another way for the socialists to try and keep the maximum number of people self identifying as victims.

A former Staff-NCO that I used to work with in the USMC, who could not stand profanity, had a sign on his desk:
Profanity is the sound of an IGNORANT MIND trying to express itself......
I am partial to calling idiots drivers “sons of bitches” and “son of a bitch!” is one of my favorite exclamations when I’m startled or surprised. I like using it as a verb-”shut up and quit yer bitchin.” But “bitch” as noun, alone? Don’t use it much, if at all.
*giggle*
Don’t be niggardly with the vocabulary, please.
What a bitch.
More of a grinch (but I didn't think "Grinch")
LoL...
LOL!
They would “pitch a bitch!”
What about a son-of-a-bitching greyhound bitch? ;)
