CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . Im tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?
HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we dont have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy theres not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isnt going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

I missed the "proof" part that was supposed to follow your assertion. If George Bush had proof, wouldn't he present it to shut the Democrats and the ant-war crowd up?
One thing I’ve noticed about those who don’t accept that Islamic terrorists were behind Sept. 11 is that you have such an inflated view of the power of the U.S. government that you cannot accept that it was not omniscient. The government is composed of people, not supermen.
RP is not a 9/11 conspiracy moron, I will say that for him, it would be better if those crazies were put to bed so to speak and IMO, that is what he was getting at in the interview.
If one wishes to slam Ron Paul his Iraq cut and leave position is good fodder, but dipping into the realm of projection doesn’t hold water.
The post was in jest...

Heh??
Oh, I agree with you he’s a nut case, but his libertarian streak meshes well with the South Park conservatives and he serves as a beacon for all those who were disappointed in the Bush Administration.
His support won’t be great, but it’s sending a notice to the rest of the GOP.
What has Fred done to deserve this worship?
He says a lot of right things, but so did the GOP for the last six years.
Maeve a coward? Not in my book.
No, Ron Paul isn’t a truther and this is a terrible hatchet job by Maulkin. The GOP establishment is really getting worried.
Go Ron!
No, he isn't, and he's been quite explicit about that. Remember this quote that drew so much attention?
Have you ever read the reasons they attacked us? They attack us because we've been over there; we've been bombing Iraq for 10 years. What does that tell you about who Paul thinks was behind the attacks? That it was Osama Bin Ladin and Al Qaeda.
Now that you have been set straight, I expect that you will not repeat this nonsense. Of course, I'm assuming you weren't already aware of this before you posted this thread. I mean, that would be dishonest. You weren't aware of this already were you?
Well the guy is devoid of any real solutions to the situation we as a nation are facing today. Pull the troops home and become Fortress America sounds good on paper but it would take a whole lot of re-thinking on our part as a country to even try to approach our current status in this way. For one thing the bad guys ain’t interested in settling for the rest of the world but want to attack us here on our own soil. Pretending they’re going away is a dumb and dangerous concept !!!
That is one of the biggest problems with Ron Paul in a nutshell. Even if Ron Paul does not believe the Truther ideology, he keeps misspeaking and making it look like he does. His supporters are constantly having to explain to us what Ron Paul really meant to say or what he was thinking when he said what he said. Do we really want a President that needs an English interpreter to tell the public what the President really meant to say everytime he opens his mouth?
Personally, I say a pox on both your houses. I can't stand the holier-than-thou, support the GOP at all costs crowd. I don't doubt there are things that the government has hidden from us regarding the events of 9/11. On the other hand, I think that the truthers are crazier than a shithouse rat. There's ample evidence that the basic facts about the hijackers, their religion and motives, and the collapse of the towers are exactly as they seem to be. I just can't get behind someone who would pander to this group. I'm voting for None Of The Above.
It's not worship....
Simply put it's a belief that he can beat the dem candidate no matter who she is...
We here at the freerepublic have a choice...
Beat Hillary or not... If you want to support Romney or mcCain or the mayor...
go ahead at your (our own) peril..
We have one chance to defeat this nightmare... Vote for Fred.....
The libertarian or independent podium. This way he can be true to himself and others. Now, that you mentioned GWB, I agree, everybody has the right to criticize him even if that person is a true Republican or Conservative. And, you just mentioned some very good reasons for it.
As far the libertarian platform goes, some do mach with the conservative ideas, some are isolationalist, but on social issues they are very theoretical and way far to the left.
The way the Republican party is these days, that's a compliment.
