Trutheriness and Ron Paul (Michelle Malkin) [Ron Paul Says The Darnedest Things!]
Michelle Malkin ^ | May 19, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 08/05/2007 5:34:39 PM PDT by Lovebloggers

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

Ron Paul is a crazy and dangerous old coot. Just look at YT and his “supporters” there.

================================

I would add, that Ron Paul remained a libertarian. As such, as older he gets as further he drifts from reality. More bizarre statements from him should be expected. Next, please!

So what exactly is wrong with being a libertarian? (Note that that's with a little "l".)

Go ahead, spin this one. LOL

Spin? How ironic for you to say that, of all people.

You were present on the previous thread where Ron Paul denied any connection with or belief in Trutherism. You know this old Malkin story, half-baked as it was, was and is false and yet you persist in spreading lies and trolling it.

Here's a thread for others to inspect so they can see for themselves just how dishonest you truly are. Quite a number of your little gang of Paul-haters are here on this thread, pretending this is some fresh new story when they already know that Ron Paul is no Truther and has denied it vehemently because they were already on the other thread which disproved Malkin's loopy story:
Audio: Ron Paul shocked to find he’s associated with Trutherism
You'd make Josef Goebbels blush.

From your quote:

“Does he … not know what Alex Jones’s radio show is about? Does he think it’s some sort of “local interest” program? He makes regular appearances on it; isn’t it about time someone clued the great man in?”

Next we will be hearing Debunked: Bill Clinton did not have sex with that woman!

Yes, I am the real big scary nightmare that FreeRepublic doesn’t seem to want around....I don’t accept the official story on 9/11 as a complete answer to what happened on that most tragic day in the history of this nation.

Oh, but there are several websites that really want people like you around.

So I guess you didn't catch his 10 minutes on Fox where he refuted the 'truther' nonsense. Nah, much better to dredge up something from May 19 by that idiot Malkin that's already been discussed

. . these same intelligence agencies assured the Clinton and Bush Administrations and the Congress that that Saddam had large stocks of chemical and biological weapons, and that he was on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons.

You mean there aren't any WMDs in Iraq?

But . . but . . but . .

What am I to make of all the threads on FreeRepublic which say there are, and FReepers who claim the Bush administration is either a) waiting for the proper time to spring it on the opposition for political gain, or b) keeping it under wraps so terrorists won't go looking for what wasn't found and disposed of?

Is it possible (not to mention desirable) to keep an open mind about both the veracity and finality of government reports on subjects with potentially earth-shaking consequences such as these? I think it is.

And one does not need to be a "truther" to be skeptical of the official government line. Their record is far from flawless.

This isn’t Michelle Malkin’s story. This is an update on his blog at the bottom which links to an mp3 recording of the radio show in which Paul made these comments.

We talked about due diligence in another thread. ;)

You'd make Josef Goebbels blush.

All you can do is hurl insults. Making your insults more vicious and more absurd will not help L.Ron succeed. He is a laughingstock, and on FR, you are too.

I would add, that Ron Paul remained a libertarian.

You should understand that Paul is a lifelong devout Christian and all of his beliefs are in line with traditional Republicanism.

Casually throwing around the libertarian word and trying to equate it with the liberal one isn't going to have an impact on Paul, since Paul is pro-life, pro-border security, and pro-traditional values, which are at odds with the Libertarian Party itself.

I assume you're just being a disinformation troll for whatever little satisfaction that might bring you.

You pointedly avoid the actual content of that page: the audio file of RP's clear and unequivocal denial of any association with or belief in Trutherism.

Clearly, you don't want anyone to listen to it and are trying to preserve the lie as long as you can.

This thread isn't debate or discussion or news. And you know that. It's simple hate and propaganda.

But that's okay. We're accustomed to character assassination. It doesn't seem to slow the growth of our pinglist and support.

And for those who want to learn more about Ron Paul, having seen exactly the lengths to which the Paul-haters will go to bash him, here's our RP banner with the usual links including one to Join our pinglist so you can be flagged to future RP threads.

Did you read where the quote came from in her blog?

of course you didn’t — you need talking points from Paul campaign headquarters to do that.

"He makes regular appearances on it [the Alex Jones’s radio show]"

So TWO appearances is "regular? You can bet he knows the score now that Alex Jones (and a lot of Fred fans here on FR) lied about what he said that second appearance.

No, because Saddam moved them into Syria.

Obviously, that just proves that Ron Paul is a traitor who has been feeding info to Osama bin Laden.

Seriously, I would guess that Paul was trying to get at the concept of “loyal opposition”. I think he might have thought that the Democrats would be antagonistic to a Republican administration and more relevant information would be learned and released. Some people are so quick to scream “traitor” or “nutbag” that they just don’t stop to think.

I’ve even stated above why I think he’s wrong. It’s just that I don’t believe that having an opinion on foreign policy that differs with GWB makes one a traitor or a “nutcase”.

I also remember a time when conservatives said things like “I love my country, but I fear my government.” I guess now the “conservative” saying around here is “I believe the government completely when our guys have the presidency”.
