Just turned on the news. 35W bridge collapsed in the Mississippi River. Cars, trucks, semis.....
Fires burning, tanker trucks, at least one school bus, more than ten cars......
Just now breaking.......
gotta turn the channel...

Instead, I’d worry more about the lunacy of the public teat. Payouts to selfish morons and greedy businesses are not only sucking the well dry, they are unconstitutional in principle. Gov. just shouldn’t be handing out money to anyone.

There was a bridge we use to have to cross when going to the orthopedic rehab center at Stanford.
I HATED driving over that bridge.

If you look at the green steel girders in the first frame, it looks like they are all buckled up, they straighten out as the bridge collapses. It would be nice to see the previous 15 seconds or so of the video.

The first dollar in any transportation budget -must- be allocated to maintaining the current infrastructure SO BRIDGES JUST DON’T FALL FROM THE SKY.

Isn't that amazing? When you see that bus leaning right up against the guard rail it's just something that it didn't go over the edge. Just a miracle.

but I have heard over the years that most locals that live down there along the river hated the movie because it was not based on the real story. A lot of Hollywood fluff.
How sad, police chief said someone was pinned in car and mortally injured, who said his goodbyes to loved ones, to be passed on by medical personel helping him.
The bridge inspection rating...half of all the bridges in MN have the same rating. It means the bridge should be maintained and slated for replacement sometime in the future. It does not mean that the bridge is unsafe for use.
