Just turned on the news. 35W bridge collapsed in the Mississippi River. Cars, trucks, semis.....
Fires burning, tanker trucks, at least one school bus, more than ten cars......
Just now breaking.......
Those poor children on that bus, can't imagine the terror
The whole thing is a nightmare....
I am a first responder - I can't imagine the stomach turning horror they all faced as they heard the call and rode up on the scene of devastation.
I watch the divers in awe too - they have a horrible job - recovering bodies - seeing first hand those who's cars went into the water and they couldn't get out.
As for people helping people before even emergency services get there - I wouldn't expect any less - basic human kindness & courage is essential in times of crisis.
I agree. Along with the courage and kindness the adrenalin kicks in.
*Yawn*...
Preach it, bro.
BTW, I think I can preach it too. Only problem is I’ve got a conscience, so, I am unable to preach on command. But, I do admire those who can take a script and run with it, regardless of what it says.
Dang, I guess you can tell I just made that up. I’d make a lousy liar^H^H^H^H^H lawyer, woont I.
Oh, well.
PS: If it’s any consolation, it looks like you’re right after all. It seems I *am* the only one who thinks there’s a good chance that this was indeed a terrorist event. Greg “Breck Girl” Kelli on Fox Snooz just reported that NO ONE thinks there’s a possibility of terrorist involvment.
So there. To the victor belong the spoils. Enjoy your vindication.
And yes, I *am* a sarcastic SOB.
(Mentioned only because I suspect that otherwise you’d likely smirk and tell yourself that you won, you won, you showed *me* a thing or two!)
Now, for those who *don’t* feel compelled to take the Official Party Line and ram it down every throat within spittin’ distance, I noticed that already the recent history is being Orwellized, bigtime.
Yesterday, ALL reports, from multiple unrelated sources (I archived some of them) were unanimous in declaring unambiguously that the bridge was structurally sound as of all inspections, including the most recent one (fairly recent, as these things go), and, that the ONLY work being performed at the time leading up to the catastrophe was COSMETIC repair, with NO affect upon ANY structural elements of the bridge.
This fine morning, that’s old history — old, in the Orwellian sense, as in “those statements have been declared inoperative” — suddenly, it’s all up for grabs, with plenty of evidence that the bridge was a shambles, AND, the workers were indeed working on structural elements.
How’d ol’ Orwell put it? Ah, right:
“Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past.”
Welcome to the future.
I thought he was a bad actor...
What an awful story.
I have to disagree with you. They sure weren't stupid on 9/11. It took a genius to pull that off.
Prayers up for the Twin Cities
Terrorists plot and plan while we (pre 9-11) think it could never happen. I’m not pre 9-11. I question everything.
Thanks,,I don’t think I use that one. Reminds me of the old bridge over the Miss in Baton Rouge, man I hate that one. As a kid, it was scary.
Does anyone know when (and *why*) FR began tracking our activities via the "urchinTracker" service at google-analytics.com?
I noticed the URL flashing on my status bar as a page loaded, and I said to myself, naw, it *couldn't* be! But, curious bastard that I am, I took a look at the page's HTML, and there it was -- a javascript invoking the logging/tracking/profiling service.
I'd say "Tell me it ain't so!" -- but it obviously IS so:

[script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript"] [/script] [script type="text/javascript"] _uacct = "UA-2288668-1"; urchinTracker(); [/script] [/body] [/html]

Excellent pics... thanks for your efforts.
I'll betcha he gets over that in a hurry. Favorite Son pundits will NOT veer off point! :)
Second reading...with one cup of coffee .. I thought interesting, but I have no idea why.
Oh and BTW, I could have galloons of coffee and still have no idea why. ;-)
People seem oddly compelled to attack those who say "might be terrorism" when events -- proclaimed by the government as being likely terrorist targets -- transpire.
Most likely added to track Bill O’Reilly so we can see where exactly he found the hate speech on FR.
FR doesn’t allow any JAVA script execution, what you have there is the GOOOGLE tracking script so they can pin down the websites you go to while in google...I don’t think FR is tracking bupkiss while we’re here...
You can email John Robinson to check, but that’s what I was told once about Java on FR, they plain don’t allow it because it’s so squirrely...
The bridge collapse is not terrorism because...
1) Keith Ellison is a Congressman from that city.
2) The 6 Imams who caused a ruckus onboard a flight that originated from Minn.-St. Paul.
3) The cabdrivers who refuse to take passengers who have liquor and/or who are accompanied by seeing-eye dogs.
4) The Muslims who created a ruckus when a college institution would not allow Muslim-only prayer areas, but rather an all-denomination prayer area. The Muslims are appealing the decision and it appears that they will get what they want.
5) The fact that CAIR has the largest presence of members in Minn.-St. Paul, outside of the DC area.
6) The fact that Minn.-St. Paul is so liberal, that it might as well be Vladivostok.
MY PRAYERS TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THIS AWFUL ACCIDENT.
