It's not going to fly. Cities can't enact gun bans in Idaho. The only "banned" locations are K-12 schools, court rooms, jails and juvenile detention facilities.

It figures that a university town would elect a leftist dumbass as mayor. Perhaps its time for a recall.

Correct. Idaho is a preemption state on gun laws.

No City nor County... only the State...bottom line we all know this will only apply law abiding citizens of Moscow and the surrounding areas...

Pullman, Viola, Potlatch etcetera... Better to go and spend our money and visit parks and other City owned venues in Lewiston/Clarkston instead.

While guns are prohibited by judicial order at the county courthouse here, Thompson said there are no such prohibitions on other county property....

Chaney said her concern on city property, in part, stems from the rash of shooting deaths in Latah County over the past five months. She said the May shooting at the courthouse, which resulted in three deaths - including a Moscow police officer - gave her pause about how vulnerable people are in public settings.

Hmm. The irony force is strong here.

So she wants to ban guns due to a shooting at the only place to have already banned guns.

The second part is the truth about what she’s up to. The first part is just boilerplate. Mayor Chaney is a gun grabber. There is no way around that fact.
