I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.
Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.
We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.

I must have missed that because all I saw was Jr telling posters repeatedly what the rules on FR are, while they went right on breaking them, doing everything to rub his nose in it. Seems to me if you disagree with the man who makes the rules, you are not much interested in continuing on FR. Just a weird idea I have, I guess.

Ya just NEVER quite know who's eye is going to catch your bit of humor, and -- for whatever reason -- totally MISS the fact that it's humor.
We often note the Lib's characteristic lack of a sense of humor, but I'm not at all certain there aren't some GOP faithful -- perhaps even a few hard-bitten Conservatives -- who've lost theirs somewhere along life's road.
It sticks in my mind that the "I hate black people" comment cited by BOR, could have been intended -- in context -- as a sarcastic retort to another post; a situation that a "humor-challenged" person would very EASILY miss completely.
kristinn, you always do us proud. I missed the 8 o’clock O’Reilly, but I’ll turn it on now. Thanks for defending us.

For the record, B.O., we sometimes enjoy mocking people on this site. That is fair game in the political battle. When someone on the other side is ill, we pray for them and don’t hope they die. When someone on the other side dies, we give condolences and prayers to the family. Although it occasionally sneaks through, our language is clean. Sometimes trolls and newbies come here and put up a disgusting post. They are removed as quickly as possible. Just because we don’t want gays to marry and adopt children, that doesn’t mean we hate them. Most of us just want them to live their lives and do whatever they do behind closed doors, not in the streets in front of our children. When the Dems are in power, unlike what the other side does, we don’t want America to lose a war and we don’t want the economy to collapse. We want everyone to succeed — yes even black people! We are not racists here. Far from it. We look at people as individuals and judge them that way. In most instances where you find hate on this side, what we hate are evil people doing evil things. I have incredible disdain for Hillary Clinton, not because I simply have a political disagreement, but because she did things like try to destroy women behind the scenes whom her sexual predator husband assaulted. She has gotten away with violating the law for many years. She will do anything for power and, because of that, she is very, very dangerous.
