I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.
Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.
We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.

I seem to recall at the begining, OReilly held up the paper, and said the comments were from Daily Kos. Which they probally are, and this is just a similar topic, nothing to do with what came from Kos.
Exactly. And his stumbling reference of "free-um-dom republic.com" was obviously issued by one not well-acquainted with the site. As if he was very recently given the name to use, and thus not comfortable citing it. As to why FR, clearly the Left offered it up to deflect attn from the attack on KOS, and BOR gladly accepted the offering to demonstrate his "fairness."

And to think that his boss (murdock) just completed the purchase of the WALL STREET JOURNAL...That can’t possibly be good for the rest of us minions...Seems like more and more everyday these ELITES including Mr.O want to control our every move...Just who in the you know what think he is...Talk about ARROGANCE...FREEREPUBLIC is one of the very best source of info around, par none...He must be losing his viewership/ratings which is understandable...BTW, are they still reporting ratings these days?

This is pathetic. I think it shows just how easily the American public, particularly Republicans, can be manipulated. Freepers is going to let BOR dictate what can and what can not be said on this site? Do we really need BOR to decide for us if this is or is not such a place? Oh no! He said we are a hate site. So what? Again the people that come here regularly know weather this is that type of place or not.
We need to be careful. You check your speech too much and then you end up not having any opinions at all because you might offend someone. This smacks more of manipulation then anything else. How many post does this site have? I can’t even venture a guess but to say there are not at least a few vitriolic post in what must be at least a million is absurd.

This truth is what scares people the most who are not Freepers. The heat in the kitchen is alway going to be turned up on those who type (speak) the truth. FR is the only site I visit and post to. The kitties have always been kind, but that does not mean, if I deserve it, the kitties would not ZAP me. Bill has done as he does because he has different beliefs, but because he has different beliefs does not mean he is right.
Anyhow I am probably now labeled as a hater by certain people, but I come here for the truth about many different situations and have always been impressed with the people here (I lurk more than I post). I think when people become tuned in to what is taking place in our nation, some start to fear those who are tuned in and listening and even posting; and scare those who wish to tell people what to think.
I ask not to be agreed with, but I will not be afraid to state what I think. Guess Bill should visit more often. Maybe his attitude would change.

They are everywhere. I was reading at imwithfred yesterday and flagged two very vulgar posts.
I do watch BOR, but as many times as not, it is only to see what cause he is taking on.
Mostly, BOR is ill-informed, factually incorrect, and he even throws in a nonsensical opinion or two from the left, just so he can't be stereotyped a conservative. In short, BOR is a blow-hard.
I was a little disappointed. O’Reilly himself knows that the “moral equivalency” thing doesn’t work. Yes, we have some trolls - they must be weeded out - and anybody can find some stray posts that are bad. However, the vast majority of posts on Kos are horrible, nasty and vile - and even violent - and the stunt that a Kos Kid pulled on O’Reilly in front of his own house this morning was the worst. The absolute worst.
