It is awful I cannot express my words or feelings at present but I know I have just lost one of my dearest and close friends even though we have never met.

She sent me several photos of her growing up and as a young women I think this is my favourite one of her in ninth grade

What?! This is the former GretchenEE? Oh crud, I had no idea she was even ill. Oh crud; now everything’s all blurry. Oh crud; I’m so sorry for your loss, Mark. We had some pleasant correspondence... but with the FRemail search perennially broken, I doubt I could find it. We go ‘way back.

Mark, I am stunned, and will keep you, and Carrie, in my prayers. Your Mom has everything she needs ♥ Carrie and your family are an inspiration. From a Mom POV, however, I'm thrilled to know you're glad about the table manners.

Gretchen was one of the first friends I made on FR ... In her own quiet way, she was one of the pillars of this site.

When she asked me to be a Dose host, I told her that everyone on that thread is like a second family to me, and it's true. Gretchen was like a big sister ...

I don't have any brothers or sisters in real life, so that relationship meant a lot to me personally.

I just realized that Gretchen is now reunited with her brother that passed away last year. Praise God and thank You for Your mercy.
