An Administration LOST at Sea
American Spectator ^ | 31 july 07 | Doug Bandow

Posted on 07/31/2007 2:59:11 AM PDT by rellimpank

Once the scourge of goo-goo internationalism, the Bush administration is now desperate to appease the United Nations crowd, Europeans, and "transies," as the transnational progressives, or NGO gaggle, is called. The president's latest concession is pushing the Law of the Sea Treaty, appropriately known as LOST.

Needless to say, all of the wrong people are excited at the prospect of American ratification of LOST, after a more than three decade long struggle. Those who oppose the inevitable LOST victory will show themselves to be "part of an extreme out-of-touch minority," said one happy treaty advocate.

"The Law of the Sea Treaty also would give the UN power to tax American citizens and businesses...LOST also would establish an international court system to enforce its provisions and rulings."

Where is FR's tiny gaggle of free traitors to spin this one? They're usually here by now, trying to deny, explain and alibi LOST.

"The GOP doesn't need to worry about this yet."

And what about you, Ben. Are you for or against LOST (i.e., are you for or against the national sovereignty of the United States)?

def. Hate speech: You don’t agree with my opinion.

def. Non-hate speech: I don’t agree with your opinion.

Soon to be codified into Federal Law, come 2008 and Hillery.

I think it would be worth the call. This thing has more bad ramifications for us. We basically give up all rights to ocean mining to the UN.

We gave up all rights to space mining in 1967. Ocean mining, that is, oil and gas, will continue.

Here, one is dumb as a box of rocks but has a sharp staff that keeps her out of trouble; the other one is very sharp and a left wing true believer. Together, they have pretty much made a mess of anything and everything they’ve touched. Neither can be salvaged.

I don’t know whose behind it, but “crap” perfectly defines it.

The whole world is going to hell around us and our leaders are scared to death that we will be left out.

On one hand, the maycouldamites say that if the senate ratifies, it may-could-might destroy the nation.

On the other hand, there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it, the arctic nations(US excluded) are jockying around staking claims.

Some say there could be some conflicts. More likely, the treaty will provide a framework for the signatories to co-operate and carve up the arctic.

Meanwhile, events at the recent Lobster Summit have caused some of the senators to get frantic.

My own Senator Lugar is the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and has been plugging this treacherous treaty forever.

In fact, he has now devoted an entire webpage of editorials from the Main Stream Media that agree that the LOST is a good thing.

So it must be a good thing. After all, Senator Lucifer Lugar is a "moderate" Republican.

We’re going to need Ron Paul as President to undo Bush’s Globalist agenda damage. Our nation can do better than the lesser of two evils voting.

I will be happy to repeat the question you are dodging: "Are you for or against LOST (i.e., are you for or against the national sovereignty of the United States)?"

Loyal American conservatives have no trouble at all answering this question.

What about you, Ben?

All you maycouldamites say that we have the most potent Navy and don't need to sign the treat.

Well now is the time. You need to send the Navy into the artic. NOW.

Russia is claiming our sea floor. Canada has said that they will begin patrolling Horn Island, which Bush says is in international waters.

Now is the time. Send them in!

I think we have our answer.

You are not a loyal American conservative.

But then we already knew that.

Oh my. Cursing now, are we.

Must have struck a nerve.

Don't despair, Ben, you can always go back to that party-above-principle, illegal alien pandering, GOP Big Tent you so revere. Going to be lonely for you now, though, what with the conservative base having vacated the place and all. Still, you can still hobnob with your friends, the RINOs and "moderates". Birds of a feather and all that...
