You have to realize the Left knows perfectly well Conservatives are easy to trick into feudes. A lot of the garbage you see posted is simply a Democrat Activist pretending to be a “betrayed Conservative”. Moveon.org even hold seminars teaching their faithful to pull this crap.
Life is a bell curve, anytime you see someone 100% against some politic or only ever critical of one side of the debate, especially when it is what is suppose to be their side, warning bells should go off in “Conservaives” heads.
I think Newt is simply reading his emails and regugitating what he thinks people want to hear. A number of the 2nd string Talk Radio hosts are guilty of the same tactic.
That is stupid politics. People who are mad take the time to write. People who support things usually don’t. So looking to your email to determine your principals tend to make you bellicose and angry. That may sell well in the Junk Media, it doesn’t sell to people when they actually sit down and think about who they want running their country.
Fareed says the American public really wants a different kind of foreign policy. How much does the American public think about foreign policy? How much does the American public know about it? Not much, I would venture to guess.
Gergen warning them again that it will be a disaster if they get someone who is totally anti-war. Fareed jumps in to prove that they don’t have anyting like that and to say that Bush has been stupidly macho (frankly, that’s when people gravitate to him).
Fareed is a really creepy kind of guy.
Newt need to learn to be actually FOR somethings, not just against everything to be taken seriously in politics.
He also need to recognize his expertise in a few things doesn’t make him and expert on everything.
His commentary on the War have been utterly inane and stupid. Counter Insurgency is not Total War. You would think a History Prof like Newt would KNOW better then to say he would repeat the same stupid mistakes of every failed Counter Insurgency in history just so he can out arm chair general the rest of the talking heads.
He is too enamored of this “I am the new Churchill” motify he has got going in his head. He should grow up.

It’s like a game where they know things are wrong, but enjoy watching the frustration build, since they want to see what the
other person will say.
