Military adviser rips Democrats over Iraq bills

July 28, 2007

By S.A. Miller - A top U.S. military adviser yesterday rebuked the Democrat-led Congress for ignoring recent success of the troop surge in Iraq and trying to hamstring the war effort with legislation.

"Your actions here in the Congress appear to be in direct conflict with the realities on the ground where the trends are up and progress is being made," retired Army Gen. John M. Keane, adviser to U.S. commanders in Iraq, told a House panel that is considering time limits on troop deployments.

"Your resolution, like so many others proposed, ties the hands of our military commanders and deprives them of the opportunity to use the appropriate level of force for the time that is required to use that force," he said.

When it comes to war, the Democrats will settle for nothing less than complete and unconditional surrender.

Ours, that is.

To the chronically deceitful, reality interferes with their demagogic vision.

At work this week I received yet another foolish anti-war cartoon from a group of democrats. I responded with a simple question. “Do yo want the US to win the war in Iraq? Yes or no.” More than 2 dozen emails over Thursday and Friday, not a single yes or no answer from the left of center crowd. The right of center crowd responded with Yes, or Hell Yes in their first response.

That same slime ball woman called this retired General a LIAR to his face... actually used the L word. She told him that SHE knew the proper Military solution and that he (the General) was wrong... that Iraq could NEVER be won.

I despise all dims, and regardless of what some FReeper tried to argue yesterday... ALL dims are EVIL!

Democratic leaders are "not willing to concede there are positive things to point to" in Iraq, said a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat.

You're showing your cards again, Nance. We know which side you're on.

I saw him on FOX NEWS. Quite an interesting exchange was had with one of the Congresswomen who insisted he was being too optimistic.

It's not that they aren't willing to admit there are positive developments. It's that they lie and say there are no positive developments.

It's one thing to have a difference of opinion. It's quite another to refuse to acknowledge reality.

God, I hate these people.

It would be all right if the Democrats had simply lost the will to fight and presented the country with a declaration of surrender so that we could withdraw safely and give the terrorist their victory. They are defeated. They know it and the Al Queda leadership knows it. The absolute criminal situation is that they are claiming that they have a “solution” in withdrawal that is something other than surrender. They are presenting this position to the public as a “heroic” action that is not a surrender and the press as well as a substantial portion of the population are buying into it. The claim that a withdrawal/surrender will end the deaths is a red herring. It will not. Military personnel may not be dying in Iraq after we withdraw/surrender but they will be dying somewhere else.

The Al Queda believe they brought down the Soviet Union as a result of their victory in Afghanistan and they believe that they will do the same to us (and Israel) either as a result of a victory in Iraq or some follow on place(s) like Lebanon. This is a war against everything Western (Israel is a Western state in the Mid East; a bigger sin than being Jewish). They will not stop as long as they think they can defeat us as a nation the same way they broke the will of the Democrats. This is classic Sun Tsu strategy and we are too self absorbed in Paris Hilton and American Idol to realistically contemplate what can happen.
