Thanks for the webpage address. Just left them this...

Neither I nor any of my fat cat friends will ever spend a dime to ski in your town. Far more heinous than attacking the president in the time of war is the sheer arrogance of standing up in the public forum and announcing how important you are. Did you vote to impeach FDR or JFK?

Just for the record, what were you piddling politicians doing back when Bill Clinton was getting blown in the Oval Office and transparently lying about it to a grand jury to the point of being disbarred? Were you all aboard with that impeachment? And it is the Bush tax cut that puts spending money in my pocket to go on vacation...any loyalty to that move?

Seriously, I, my family, and $2100 are heading to Gatlinburg for a week. There's a great little town...that just wants your money and knows how to politely keep their official yap shut. Nice going, mayor McCheese. Actions have consequences...I guess the local economy is going to be thin for a while, eh?

Great. Let’s keep hammering them. Burning up their fax machine might be nice.

There are plenty of choices - http://www.skiresorts.org/unitedstates/

Mammoth is always great, as is Park City. I wouldn’t go to Sundance - the locals probably have impeachment signs posted all over town. Clinton likes Jackson Hole. Perhaps you could run into him there with some babe.

This from the agenda of the next town council meeting...

"1b. A Resolution Declaring and Affirming that Telluride is a Community Which Respects Diversity, Abhors Discrimination, Promotes Tolerance and Provides a Place Where all Persons Will be Treated Equally and With Respect and Dignity (11:15am) (5min)"

...except of course conservatives, Republicans, people from the Midwest, Bible-believing Christians...

If only 17% of Teluride is pro-Bush, most of their voters MUST believe the “Goracle”. They shouldn’t have been surprised by ANY canceled “Ski Visits”!

AL had warned them. His believers don’t make Long Range plans that expect a traditional “Winter”. Telluride’s voters should be looking for a NEW Industry.

What happened to conducting the towns business?

Who pays these people to waste their time on meaningless pronouncements?

And yet another voice of support from the "Class of '45."

Among the community members endorsing the resolution was Phil Miller, a veteran of World War II who was wounded in the Philippines.

“The people have acquiesced too easily because they don’t know the horror that war unleashes,” Miller said of the Iraq War. “I have seen the brutality of war that turns nice young men into barbarians.”

Let me guess, a Kerry supporter.

I wonder if he includes himself as one of those "Barbarians?"

*snort* Hard way to learn that words mean things, and actions have consequences. Good for those folks who voted with their feet, and dollars, to go somewhere else!

That’s exactly it. They read the newspapers, and think, well, everyone hates Bush. So it’s ok. They don’t realize that the MSM only represents a small portion of the population.

Remember how amazed they all were that McCain is dying out there. Well, it must be the war, right? The MSM says so.

* There, fixed it.

I will be contacting these hatemongers at a later time. A ski vacation is in the future for me and my family, and Telluride was one of the potential destinations...Vermont was another--now it looks like we'll be nixing BOTH and looking elsewhere. Maybe UTAH.

At any rate, I'll be letting these idiots at Telluride KNOW why I've even taken them off my list for consideration.

hmmmm.

maybe we should all email them, explaining that we are canceling our planned ski vacations because we are “worried” about Global Warming, because of AlBores’s concerns....

After all, the perfect snow just might not be there, and even if it is, we would be warming up the Globe in our efforts to get there.

Never mind, they are really hungering after the rich folks who have “credits”, you know? We just don’t spend enough $ in the local watering holes and shops to suit them, particularly after the “cost to the globe” of getting there!

At the meeting, Phil Miller railed against an “imperial presidency” that launches unnecessary wars, and spoke forcefully and movingly against an administration that steamrolls dissent and then flattens foreign countries.

“The people have acquiesced too easily because they don’t know the horror that war unleashes,” said Miller, who was a soldier during World War II, who saw babies starve and families hunkered down in bombed-out buildings. He himself was hit by a bullet while fighting in the Philippines. “I have seen the brutality of war that turns nice young men into barbarians.”

No, it was actually filmed in my hometowm of Salem, OR. Salem is not as liberal as Telluride, but the rest of the state is.

Hmmmmm, next the town will retain the ACLU to sue the groups cancelling for offending the free speech rights of the council. I am only mildly kidding - that is not far away.
