CBNNews.com - CAMP DAVID, Md. - President Bush transferred the powers of his office to Vice President Dick Cheney for more than two hours Saturday while under sedation for a colon cancer screening.
Doctors removed five small polyps during the procedure at Camp David. "None appeared worrisome," White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said. Polyps are precancerous growths in the colon.
All the polyps were less than a centimeter and were sent for microscopic examination to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Results were expected within 72 hours.
The colonoscopy lasted 31 minutes; the sedated president was asleep the whole time. The transfer of power from Bush to Cheney covered two hours and five minutes.
The president invoked Section 3 of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution "out of an abundance of caution." Stanzel said. The amendment, approved in 1967, four years after President Kennedy was assassinated, had been used only twice before.
At 7:16 a.m. EDT, Bush invoked the disability clause and transferred his authority to Cheney. The vice president was at his home on the Chesapeake Bay in St. Michaels, Md., about 30 miles east of Washington.

LOL. I hope nobody had to ride with you :)
Amen!
My thoughts exactly!
LMAO! Comment of the day. Good one. Although, I personally think his head’s been firmly wedged up his rear end sind McCain-Feingold.
It's the responsibility of the media to look at the president with a microscope, but they go too far when they use a proctoscope.Richard Nixon
I wonder if Princess Nancy was invited to view the procedure.
The Doctor got to do what she and he rat colleagues have been wanting to do since the election.
LOL.
PS - The doc found no polyps or anything else worrisome in me. However, he DID say he was able to tell I ate alot of spicy food. He was right!
I hope everything came out alright.
Unless there is some medical contraindication, the usual manner of performing a colonoscopy includes sedation and someone to drive you home. They frequently use midazolam (Versed) which has some amnestic properties and most people don’t remember much about the procedure. The DO however tend to remember the bowel prep.
he really had his colonoscopy done in cuba, with a fake camp david backdrop. if you watch the video of his screening, youll notice the flag doesnt wave, and there is a second source of light in his anus. it was also an “inside” job.
It said results due back within 72 hours.
>>No, I believe they should have shot him in the back of the head.<<
The prosecution was certainly a crock - they misled the jury about the smuggler’s past and his truthfullness.
But, in general, law enforcement should not shoot somebody in the back when all they know is that he is strongly suspected of entering the country illegally and doesn’t want to be questioned.
Now the Prosecution knew the whole story and never should have gone for such a lengthy harsh sentence. The prosecution is also covering up and should be punished.
But I don’t want cops shooting unarmed people down from behind over suspicion of a non-violent crime. So I am not sorry they were convicted of something, even if this particular person they shot turned out to be a scumbag.
I meant you. You said you were not sedated. I was wondering if they would have done that if any polyps were to be removed.
I have become very disillusioned by our system of law and order in this country. My point was that had they finished the criminal bastard off then and there, they wouldn’t be sitting in prison now.
Didn’t they skuffle with crook before he fled? and didn’t he try to escape back across the border? I find no fault in shooting a fleeing criminal. Maybe that’s why I like the Dirty Harry movies so much.
However in this dreamlike state the VP did whisper into my ear and I woke up with a whole new conservative attitude. Duh Da Dum Dum.
