Well, then, it seems to me it was a completely pointless excercise to make mention of them and authorize them in our founding documents.
You must be the pro-Ron Paul poster who posted this to the Admin yesterday.
"Hey stop f@!#ing deleting and banning Republicans who are for Ron Paul you piece of garbage. Just because we disagree with neocons on some issues doesnt mean you should ban us! You act like some f@!#ing Communist who stifles all dissenting opinions. If you and your goons werent going around banning all who disagree with Fred Thompsons fat ugly evil looking ass you would see Ron Paul Republicans all over your neocon front website. Ron Paul Republicans would destroy your neocon minions easily if we werent constantly banned you filth. You did the same bull s!@t to Pat Buchanan supporters. F#!! you and all your little posters who get away with calling Ron Paul names without any facts or anything real to say.
Btw Fred Thompson is a disgustingly evil looking bald bastard, Rino who has no chance of winning or beating any democrat. Support your little fake conservative crony you motherF#!!er.
Don't take my work, take the Admin's word.
Also, must I show you the link to proper conduct here on Freerepublic as well?
However, issuing letters of marque and reprisal is:
(1) A pointless exercise, since they cannot help or incentivize that bounty hunter in any way and
(2) Not a substitute for using troops to fight terrorists: both military and private methods should be - and are being - used.
We have thousands and thousands of private contractors working alongside our troops every day.
You know damned well that Ron Paul blamed America for Islamic hate, and propagated a "Gulf of Tonkin" conspiracy.
I don't play baseball, but I'm guessing you are a "catcher".
Should we really think those who excercise letters of marque wait for further “authorization” from the people who are served such letters? The letter is just a formal way of saying one has been sent under the authority of his country to take and break another’s stuff.
We are authorized to send private individuals to do this, and those individuals may do so without fear of being prosecuted by our country. The other country will obviously not recognize it as legal. Who cares? It’s end of story. Their stuff is gone, and there isn’t a thing they can do about it unless they want to come, fight, and lose even more stuff.
Of course we are not obligated to respect letters of marque served upon our own interests. That would be ridiculous. Our military and law enforcement are permitted, if not obligated, to engage anyone who tries.
You do realize that slander is a crime don't you?
Well... no. What he said is we need to take it into consideration in order to combat it effectively. Otherwise, we are just striking blind.
He's right.
You however, are still spouting slander.
Not at all. In 1789 various nations recognized letters of marque and reprisal.
They were used in an attempt to stop Muslim terrorist pirates from attacking our shipping in the Mediterranean and the African Coast (the Barbary Wars).
However, they were not very effective and the Marines had to be called in to stop the piracy (hence: "From the halls of Montezuma/ to the shores of Tripoli").
It wasn't until the Declaration of Paris in 1856 that all the European powers stopped recognizing letters of marque and reprisal.
From that point on, no nation has honored another nation's letters of marque and reprisal, and such letters are now utterly useless.
First, it is not slanderous. If you think it is, please use all resources you can to do something about it. I dare or beg you too. Any way you want it.
I thought that slander was something that libertarians can tolerate. Who would enforce such a thing, BIG GOVERNMENT?
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Again, letters of marqure are not for the purpose of gaining the legal respect of other countries, but to authorize one’s own citizens privately to undertake the forceful reclamation of property.

So... yeah. Blatant misrepresentation of Paul's words and policies counts.
And? Ron Paul is a viable candidate running on the GOP ticket. The problem with posting this article.......is?
That is such a soft and touchie explanation of what Ron Paul said, that it is nauseating.
Maybe we should do a CNN/Gallop poll of our enemies before we consider attacking them right?
Sorry, could not help myself...
Can I help you find some legal representative to support your allegations?
Otherwise, take the critisisms of him like a man.
What do you call signing the SPP treaty, which purpose is to mesh three countries into one North American Union? The immediate purpose is to sink the US economy and stature so that Mexico's economy can rise....thereby attempting to equalize the three countries. Sounds like socialism in the short term and removing US sovereignty in the long term.
Good luck with that one, if that was the standard, DC would be a prison camp...
It should be pretty obvious.
He is a nut-ball "blame america" and "Gulf of Tonkin" propagator. I don't think pro Rosie O'Donald threads should be here either.
