Republicans Block Surrender (AP Breaking)
ASS press

Posted on 07/18/2007 8:23:55 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

Senate Republicans have mustered enough votes to scuttle a proposed troop withdrawal from Iraq. A roll call is continuing and the vote is not final.

So, you basically will never send money to the RNC no matter how many things the republican party as a whole does right, unless every single republican candidate and officeholder thinks exactly like you?

That’s an OK position, just not a very practical one if you want to actually have a 2nd viable party to defeat the democratic party apparatus. It would be great if there were no political parties, of course.

The Saudi Royal family is one of Bin Laden top 2 enemies, the US being the other one. If we leave Iraq before we crush the terrorists there, Al Qaeda will certainly be so emboldened and recruits millions of people who will take over Saudi Arabia and the whole region within a year, then we will face consequences to our national security, economy, and our way of life that are worse than any nightmare we can ever imagine.

I suspect he’s dead; and the U.S. ought to put the $50M bounty on the head of the No. 2 guy...al zwahari, or whatever his name is.

Reid can decide to resurrect it if he can find the votes. He probably will not but his vote leaves him the option. He did the same on the shamnesty cloture.

Bin Laden appeared in a video tape in 2004 as you know few days before the elections to tell the American people indirectly to vote for Kerry and against Bush. Also he has had some audiotapes since then.

In July 2007 he may have been already dead, but time will tell.

Sounds like a very viable position, if it means "Don't send money to the RNC, send it to the most conservative individual candidates in whatever jurisdiction".

If the tactic is adopted by most Republicans, it will help conservatives, starve RINOs of funds, and perhaps produce a change in the RNC leadership

IIRC it’s a procedural thing. He can now bring this back up at a later date. Keep watching people.

Doncha’ KNOW that the ENEMY loves seeing this stuff.

They know that all they have to do is hold out long enough, and the LIBERAL, FRENCHIE-Americans will force a withdrawl.

IMO, if this is how the title was written, it makes the Dems looks real bad. Even they won't admit they want to surrender. They do, but they don't want it phrased that way. I think "redeploy" is the democrat term for surrender.

"Redeploy" is to "surrender" as "coitus" is to "(never mind!)"

CORRECTION NEEDED!

The copy I posted was exactly what the ASS press reported; there was no headline...The "Republicans Block Surrender" headline was mine. I apologize for any confusion. When these quick headlines come out from ASS press, there is no formal headline.

I almost agree, except for the "change in leadership". If the RNC leadership finds that there is NOTHING they can do to get conservatives to send them money, they will be forced to appeal to other people who WILL send them money, and that will be the RINOs. So the RNC will end up more liberal than ever.

The only way to get the RNC to cater to conservatives is to give them a carrot, to suggest and show that if they are reasonably attuned to conservative needs they can get money from us.

I can’t believe Loser Lugar voted NO! He is such an idiot.
He talks out of both sides of his mouth.

I should clarify. I’m thrilled he voted NO, just surprised, seeing how he’s been yapping lately.

Referring to it as a surrender ...

What would you call it?
