Peasants Hold Pitchforks At The Gates (Barbara Simpson: Never Ever Give Up On Secure Borders Alert)

The Senate vote on immigration failed. The issue is dead.

Or is it?

No, it isn't – and Americans better not be complacent about it.

The politicians will be back with another version, regardless of which party wins the next election. Locally, the same mentality prevails to circumvent law, logic and morals on the part of politicians, activist groups and churches and the media are cheerleaders.

Example: Front page, Contra Costa Times in Northern California, July 11.

Complete with intentionally emotional pictures, it described a 1.3-square mile area on one street in Concord with 91 apartment complexes housing some 38,000 residents. More than 60 percent are in poverty, and many apartments house as many as 10 people, most sleeping on the floor.

The article was about redevelopment and possible rent increases.

Predictably, the article begins with a 24-year-old Mexican man returning from work to his two bedroom apartment (he pays $200 per month), which he shares with seven men and one woman.

We're told he'll sleep, watch TV and "think about the day he goes back to his wife and 2-year-old daughter still living in Vera Cruz, Mexico."

He came here "for solid work and a calm environment."

He says if rents go up, he'll have to move away from the construction jobs – "Or, he'll have to stop sending money back home to his family."

Is he a citizen? Is he here legally? Does he have a green card? Does he have a driver's license? Does he speak English? Who knows?

Who cares?

The article recounts other living arrangements commenting that many want to live where others speak Spanish and want to maintain the "ethnic feel of the area."

Funny – they left all that in Mexico.

Another article on Page 5 of the same edition, tells of the Contra Costa County Human Relations Commission working to formulate "a pro-immigrant resolution" which it wants the county to endorse.

Essentially, they don't want schools, police or any authorities to "cooperate" or "collaborate" with federal immigration/customs authorities. They're copying the resolution of Richmond, Calif., which forbids police or schools from enforcing immigration laws or even asking legal status.

It sounds like legalized sedition; how can sworn law officers comply?

When the immigration law push started in Washington, it was business as usual, with a caveat. Knowing there'd be resistance, meetings plans were secret. Astonishingly, they included La Raza, a militant Hispanic organization that believes there are no 'illegal' immigrants because, in their view, the U.S. Southwest belongs to Mexicans.

As the proposal became public, along with details of who put it together, opposition grew and became more vocal. But that didn't stop the push because it was assumed President Bush would sign it; he's supported the idea since his first inauguration. George Bush is nothing if not single minded and stubborn.

Opposition continued, and, as the issue gained traction on talk radio, it became impossible to ignore. Some think talk radio simply picked up on the issue of illegal aliens because of this proposal.

Wrong. It's been a thorn in the side of law-abiding, fair-minded Americans for years and a consistent talk radio issue. On my own KSFO program, it's been a hot issue for more than 12 years. Listeners want the border secured, freebies ended and illegals to go home.

They want their country back. They're not opposed to immigration; they're opposed to ILLEGAL immigration and authorities condoning it.

The political and media elite regarded the vocal opposition as "the peasants at the gates with pitchforks," as they heard, forcefully, from American citizens across the country about so-called immigration reform.

Those peasants, were us – U.S. citizens. Politicians insulted us, forgetting they work for us, not the other way around. They're elected by us, paid by us and their job is to represent us. But they don't care.

Politicians tried to ignore the onslaught of calls, faxes, letters and e-mails. When that didn't work, they resorted to the time-honored political tactic of name calling, insults, casting aspersions and, finally, accusations of racism and jingoism.

It didn't hurt that media supported them and focused news coverage on the bill's proponents who spoke with well practiced "warmth and compassion" about the "welcoming generosity of this country" and "besides, we need these people for our economy" – the usual script.

This was supplemented with special reports on poor Hispanics – heart-rending coverage of poor illegals "trying to make good in the new world" and "being denied by racist nativists."

Balance didn't play much of a role in those reports, which inundated TV, cable, radio and print.

Then there were the media and political attacks against conservative talk radio, as though using radio to discuss all sides of controversial issues and proposed laws, which would affect every single American today and in the future, is subversive.

The reaction to the Democrat push – aided and abetted by turncoat Republicans – surprised almost everyone, except the people – those who really understand what being an American is all about. They know what's at stake in this 21st century of terrorism with broad and real threats against, not only our freedom and our country but indeed, the future of western freedom and culture worldwide.

Bottom line? Keep rattling their cages, calling and writing. Make them enforce the laws on the books – now.

Never, ever give up.

That's like the population density of a large, squalid city in India!

With them all together in one small area like that, should be pretty easy for the INS to just go door-to-door checking documents and deporting the illegals. Could get rid of several thousand in one day if an real effort was made.

OMG I live about 3 miles from there, which is about 7 minute drive. I can attest to you folks, I have lived in Concord since 1983. Let me tell you that 3 square mile corridor is called the Monument Boulevard. Back in the early 80’s, it was a nice clean area. No apartments were built yet, until the political bastards insisted that low income housing be built on that corridor. If I remember correctly, many citizens of the city were against it for the very reason they predicted.
Well, now were in 2007. I had to look for an apartment back in 2000. However there was one area I refused to look and that is the Monument Corridor.

It is true, there are apartment complexes one after the other, and has spread a little outside the corridor. There are gangs, and now even a murder here and there. Also they had recently put a Day Labor Center, you believe that crap.

I am an American with Mexican ancestry. Let me tell you there is not enough money to force me to live among the illegals. I’m sorry if they are my “people” but I don’t want to live in a third world cesspool. Some of the apartments looks nice from the outside, but I can tell you once you walk in it is a pigsty.

I was looking for work, and applied for a clerical job and it happens to be an apartment complex near that area. I would be working at the manager office. Well when I parked outside, it looked nice outside, but GOD when I walked in, it was like junk all over. Then while I was being interviewed, I was told I would be doing clerical work for a 200 unit complex. Then, this guy suddenly walks in and stands behind me and utters some words in an accent to the lady who was interviewing me. I was shocked because I didn’t hear him come in.

Well that freak me out, because when the interviewer told me I would be myself on some occasion. I thought, Hell no I don’t want to work here. God being alone, and not knowing if this guy or any other guy comes walking in. Especially when I saw can beers laying around the area. I thought no. She asked me to submitted the application but I never did. Also she even told me not to worry about being attacked, I will be given a walkie talkie. Yeah as if that will help me. When she brought that subject up, I figure it already happen. So you see, even American born of Mexican ancestry won’t even live among their own lol.

Maybe these politicians should get a taste of their liking. Maybe they should set up low income housing in their neighborhood. This has to stop!!!!

Not only the illegal alien problem, but our VISA programs are out of control.

Al-Qaida infiltrating America as patients

Clinics warn of medical visa scam by foreigners looking to get in U.S.

Medical clinics across the country have been flooded with requests from foreign nationals from Pakistan and other Muslim countries to help them gain visa entry into the U.S. as patients.

The post-9/11 trend concerns authorities who fear al-Qaida could be using the medical industry to infiltrate terrorist cells into the country.

Some clinics have sponsored foreign patients only to have them fail to show up at their facilities.

The Caster Eye Center in Beverly Hills, Calif., for example, stopped granting such foreign requests after a couple of no-shows.

“In the last few years, we have granted this request only twice. The first was for someone in Uganda, and the other was for someone in Sri Lanka,” said Diane Sylvester, surgery coordinator at the Caster Eye Center, one of the leading Lasik eye surgery clinics in Los Angeles. “On both occasions, we issued the letter of invitation, and on both occasions the patient in question never showed up at our facility.”

Sylvester told WND the clinic recently has received additional requests for letters from nationals in Pakistan and other al-Qaida hotbeds. Foreign nationals can use the letters to obtain B-2 visitors visas from the State Department to receive medical treatment.

Requests sent to the Caster Eye clinic via e-mail, copies of which were obtained by WND, show nationals have not only requested letters for themselves but for groups as large as a dozen people.

“My concern is that our facility is helping people we cannot personally vouch for to gain entry into the U.S. – or even worse, helping people get visas which are then given or sold into the wrong hands,” Sylvester said.

“How many other medical facilities are churning out letters like this under similar circumstances?” she added.

A spokesperson for the State Department, which grants U.S. visas through its embassies abroad, said there are no post-9/11 restrictions on medical facilities issuing invitation letters to foreign nationals. Nor has the department issued any cautions to the health-care industry.

“I’m not sure which I’m more alarmed by – people scamming for visas, or the casual attitude of those overseeing the granting of visas,” Sylvester said.

The department added, however, that a letter of invitation from a medical facility does not necessarily guarantee approval of a foreign patient’s visa.

In the wake of the recent “doctor jihad” in the UK, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security are scrutinizing foreign nationals who have applied to the U.S. for visas to attend medical school or practice medicine here.

Two of the UK physicians who plotted to car-bomb London’s entertainment district had applied for permission to work in the U.S. One made contact with the Philadelphia-based Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

Terrorists posing as patients also are a growing concern, federal authorities say.

FBI case agents contacted by WND confirm al-Qaida in the past has tried to infiltrate operatives into the U.S. by claiming they need medical treatment.

Take the case of Tawfiq bin Attash, also known as “Khallad” or “Salah Mohammad.”

The dangerous al-Qaida operative and one-time bodyguard for Osama bin Laden – who helped plan both the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen and the earlier bombings of the U.S. embassies in Africa – tried to enter the U.S. from Yemen before 9/11 to participate in the attacks.

In 1999, FBI sources say, he assigned a suspected U.S.-based facilitator for al-Qaida to solicit a Seattle-area medical clinic to vouch for him as a patient so he could receive a U.S. visa.

The facility, called NovaCare Orthotics & Prosthetics, issued a letter to the suspected al-Qaida facilitator confirming the appointment he made for his “friend” bin Attash – who unbeknown to the clinic, was one of the world’s most dangerous terrorists.

Despite the letter of invitation, bin Attash’s visa requests fortunately were denied by the U.S. government. He was arrested in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2003, and is now in U.S. custody.

In 2004, a Pakistani national from Bahawalpur – another known hotbed for terrorist recruits – demanded the Caster Eye Center in Los Angeles issue him a letter of invitation he could present to the U.S. consulate to obtain a visa.

“I want a free visa for sergury [sic],” Nabeel Ahmed Bhatti wrote in an e-mail, a copy of which was obtained by WND. He claimed to have what he described in his limited English as a “short problem” with his left eye.

Pakistanis posing as disabled travelers

“Khallad” bin Attash

Additionally, the FBI and Homeland Security have warned consular officers in Pakistan, as well as law enforcement in the U.S., to be on the alert for al-Qaida terrorists posing as medical aides to disabled persons.

In November 2003, for example, WND has learned U.S. intelligence intercepted information about a plot by al-Qaida to employ the scam to obtain U.S. visas for terrorist operatives at the U.S. embassy in Islamabad.

Here is the text of the warning issued in a closely held intelligence-driven action bulletin by Homeland Security at the time:

“As of mid-November 2003, Islamic extremists were supposedly planning to send operatives to the United States and United Kingdom to conduct attacks. The attacks will allegedly take place in April 2004. The operatives will be Pakistani individuals who would obtain U.S. visas in Islamabad, Pakistan. The operatives will accompany a disabled person and act as the disabled person’s assistants when obtaining the visa.”

The two-page DHS intelligence bulletin, marked “SENSITIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT INFORMATION” and obtained by WND, added that operatives could conceal weapons, explosive materials or other contraband inside prosthetic limbs or in wheelchairs on board inbound flights to the U.S.

“This method fits with current al-Qaida methodology,” the bulletin said, “as al-Qaida has been trying to recruit individuals who would draw less scrutiny from U.S. law enforcement entities.”

I wonder how many alQueda operatives have jumped the Mexican border in the last 6 years?

There won't be 50 states in 20 years, under our current Constitution.
