LONDON British police closed at least 11 Tesco supermarkets across the country Saturday because of a security alert, authorities said.
The manager at a in Barrhead, near Glasgow, told Britain's Press Association that staff were sent home around 12:30 p.m. (1330 GMT) after a power failure. But an unidentified employee at a neighboring shop said police had told him there had been a bomb threat.
Police in Hertfordshire, where Britain's largest supermarket has its headquarters, said no one had been hurt and that the move was a precaution. Police did not immediately give further details.

We are left to wonder.
Aparently, we got tired of the “peoples eyebrow.” I guess he went the same way as Dolf Lungren, Brian Bosworth and Vin Diesel?
Fife???? Isn’t that where Barney is from?
Series of “incidents” at multiple locations?
Very cryptic.....
Speculation,
- Food tampering?
- Bomb threats phoned in?
- Actual “devices” found?
- Chinese toothpaste?
- New George Michael CD delivered?
OMG, now THAT’S funny!

Hadham Water recalls bottles in scare over contamination
A QUARTER of a million bottles of Hadham Water spring water have been cleared from supermarket shelves in a scare over possible contamination.
The water supplier, based at Church End, Little Hadham, put out a red alert to recall the bottles after a routine audit of its quality control system showed up two cases of potential microbiological contamination.
It has recalled its own-brand 2-litre bottles of still and sparkling water which are sold at Tesco and other, smaller outlets and through Sainsbury’s stores as part of its Basic range.

CONSUMER ADVISORY
SUSPECTED TAMPERING IN STELLA ARTOIS BEER
OTTAWA, July 12, 2007 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Labatt Breweries of Canada are advising the public that some Stella Artois beer bottles may have been tampered with.
The CFIA was advised of six bottles suspected of being tampered with in which concentrated alcohol was introduced into 330 ml Stella Artois beer bottles bearing the best before end of 11.2005 or 12.2005 and production codes of L32343T and L35243G. These codes have expired and should no longer be in the marketplace. These suspected tampering incidents occurred with beer sold at restaurants and bars in Toronto, Ontario and Kamloops, British Columbia. There are no reported incidents involving products purchased at beer or liquor stores. Stella Artois cans and draft beer are not affected.
Just curious, but in the past, has any terrorist group ever given warning before they attacked? I can't remember any incidents, but I'm wondering if this had ever been the MO of any terrorist group?
IRA used to call in warnings.
LOL! Aw. they are so cute! What a clever idea. Are they your dogs?
Come now, a bow/arrow marksman such as Robin would ne’er stoop to such cowardly tricks. In all the world, only Moslem terrorists would stoop that low.
A stupid alert. If you’re drinking Stella Artois beer bottles bearing the best before end of 11.2005 or 12.2005,
you’re drinking at the wrong bar.
I would not describe Tesco’s that upmarket I would have put them more on a par with Walmart.
ASDA the UK store owned by Walmart is their main competitor in the UK.

Tainted Chinese products?
Yeah. Tainted with some Semtex, a cheapo digital watch and a couple of Propane canisters, and a pre-paid cell phone..
;^)
Thanks. I think the Basque separatists (ETA) in Spain also used to call in warnings.
