The body of Zina Linnik was found today (Saturday) in Tacoma, Washington, based on information from a convicted sex offender who has been arrested in connection with her abduction, sexual torture, and death. Final charges have not been filed, and there has not been any trial. But available information now indicates that the man responsible is Terapon Adhahn, 42, an illegal alien who had been convicted in 1990 of incest against an underage relative.
He should have been deported then as a result of that conviction. He wasnt. As a representative of the Immigration Service said in one article about this subject, We lost track of him. Indeed. The police and courts in Tacoma were not much better in keeping track of this criminal alien.
Thus it was that on the 4th of July, Adhahn was in his grey van on the street where Zina was going home to get her siblings to come out to watch fireworks. He apparently snatched her off the street. Her father was close enough to hear her scream, see the van, get part of the license plate, and find his daughters shoe.
Within 24 hours, the police had found the van, found Adhahn, and developed information to find Zinas body, and arrest Adhahn on the initial charge of immigration violations. Other charges will follow.
Why did this happen? Who is responsible?
It happened because thats what pedophiles do. One of the most repetitious crimes of all is preying on children. Such criminals will almost always repeat their crimes until they are jailed or executed. But Adhahn was not jailed or executed. He was also not deported.
I have two daughters and four granddaughters. If any human slime did something like this to any of them, I would be wild with grief, and furious with anger at all responsible for this fate.
The main responsibility is the criminal himself. But in situations like this one, many other people share part of the blame.
Consider Amber Alerts, Megans Law, and Jessicas Law. All these began with the horrible death of one young girl in one state. All spread to most states in the union because they have the capacity to save the lives of other young girls from the horrors of pedophiles. Do we need more laws to protect other young girls from the fate of Zina? No we dont.
We already HAVE Zinas Laws. They are the immigration laws of the United States. They require that a pedophile like Adhahn MUST be deported after their first conviction. It is bureaucrats drawing their checks and sitting on their duffs, who have not enforced these laws. It is Members of Congress drawing their (recently increased) checks and sitting on their duffs, who have not both insisted on and paid for enforcement of these laws. It is a President who is drawing his checks and sitting on his duff, who is allowing Border Patrol agents to rot in jail rather than backing them up in doing their jobs.
Notice I have in no way condemned the dedicated but overmatched Border Patrol agents themselves.
How many Americans are exposed to attacks and death due to the failure to enforce Zinas Laws? A study by the Violent Crimes in Atlanta, released in May, 2006, concluded that there are about 240,00 illegal immigrants in the United States as of then, who are sex offenders. These criminals had about four victims each. The study deals with the propensities of these criminals to advance to murder as well as sexual abuse, and the comparative tendencies of this group to commit crimes, compared to others.
We cannot jail the politicians who allowed Zina to be tortured and killed at the age of 12. But can we at least turn our rage on them so they either act to prevent future acts like this, or flee their offices in fear of our rage? Dont we owe that to Zina, and all the little girls like her?

John / Billybob
From what I’ve heard, he was a naturalized citizen, not an illegal alien and he served in the military.
I got question we keep pedophille in jail Billybob and stupid judges allow them back on the street how about getting rid of those judges I think judges fault or DA fault maybe there is loophole in Jessica Law that get Judge put them back on the street
Make me furious
I think the federal government should reactivate Alcatraz and any pedophile should be immediately transferred there for the rest of his life with no chance of ever leaving there and that information should be shouted from the housetops. That’s the only way to keep the children safe from them. Wanna bet the number of incidents would drop to zero.
We lost track of him.

How many more are out there like him?
Dare I ask?

I heard Geraldo say that on John Gibsons show. But the feds have been holding this guy since Monday on "immigration violations." Now, how can the feds hold a naturalized citizen on immigration violations?
What seems clear is that he was brought to this country by a Thai parent, who perhaps married an American, when he was 13. I havent seen anything in print that says he was naturalized--have you?
About his status as a “naturalized citizen” you might read Michelle Malkin’s website (www.michellemalkin.com). She is updating the story with additional information. He was a deportable alien in the early 1990s based on his rape of an underage family member. He also appears to be registered to vote in Washington state, though the ICE statement seems to confirm his status as a deportable criminal alien that “got lost.”
I know he's a big lib but it was not only ridiculous but very unprofessional.
The guy’s parole officer suggested to him that he should just list himself as “homeless” that way no agency could track him ... he’d been kicked out of several apartments in his area when the locals found out who he was ...
My understanding is that any naturalized citizen who commits that sort of crime is deportable, especially after a second offense, which I’ve heard he had.
My post above gives Michelle Malkin’s continuing reporting on this matter. With all (or any) due deference to Geraldo Rivera, his stance on CIR puts a definite spin on anything he says on the issue. The facts seem otherwise. If you are a deportable alien in the 1990s you remain one, whether the feds “lose track” of you or not. I will believe Michelle’s reporting over Geraldo’s ever time.
No, I haven’t seen anything in print yet
Authorities comparing Zina Linniks death to others

Is Terapon Adhahn a serial child killer?
Thats a question investigators across the region were considering Friday after the Parkland man told Tacoma police where to find the body of 12-year-old Zina Linnik. Its something were looking into, FBI agent David Gomez said during a news conference at Tacoma police headquarters. Police Chief Don Ramsdell and Gomez said investigators would look at Adhahn as a possible suspect in other unsolved cases involving attacks on children, both in the Tacoma area and nationwide. Were looking at cold cases from the past, Ramsdell said. The chief mentioned the case of Adreanna Jackson specifically. The 10-year-old Tillicum girl disappeared in December 2005 on her way to school. Her remains were found months later in an overgrown lot not far from her home...
Just a month or so ago a recently released (11 hours or so) illegal alien raped a 15 year old girl. The investigation into that crime revealed a possible rape by the same perp of a 13 year old some time earlier by the same convicted illegal alien. ICE was supposedly notified of his release by state officials. I believe this happened in Tennessee. And the list goes on from there. And the maddening aspect of this are “immigrant rights” activists who dismiss this — and are suing because some illegals were profiled and arrested when the police investigated the original rape crime and uncovered other illegal aliens in doing so.
Wouldn’t this guy have been given AMNESTY and citizenship by Teddy K and the bunch of hot-air blowers in the Senate? I bet he’s disappointed.
It can be extremely frustrating dealing with bureaucrats at the department of corrections, many of them seem to care more about finding space and moving people through than they do about protecting the rest of us from the convicted criminals. There should be an investigation to find out who screwed up and then deal with those who did. One of the greatest problems is that there seems to be no accountability and therefore the problems continue.
I suspect he might be assuming the man is legal because he is registered to vote, rather than entertaining the possibility that his voter registration could be fraudulent.
Meanwhile, one newspaper is already doing its bit to humanize this monster. Get this from a Seattle rag:
According to the report, Adhahn was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and spent his early years with his mother and an alcoholic, abusive father. When his parents divorced, Adhahn and his siblings moved in with grandparents in a rural area, where they sometimes went without food.
During the evaluation, Adhahn said he had been repeatedly raped by an older brother, according to the report.
Please excuse me. I need some Kleenex.
