Live Earth has been branded a foul-mouthed flop. Organisers of the global music concert - punctuated by swearing from presenters and performers - had predicted massive viewing figures. But BBC's live afternoon television coverage attracted an average British audience of just 900,000. In the evening, when coverage switched from BBC2 to BBC1, the figure rose to just 2.7 million. And the peak audience, which came when Madonna sang at Wembley, was a dismal 4.5 million. Three times as many viewers saw the Princess Diana tribute on the same channel six days before. Two years ago, Live 8 drew a peak television audience of 9.6million while Live Aid notched 10million in 1985... Musicians including Bob Geldof, Roger Daltrey and the Pet Shop Boys pointed out that a concert highlighting climate change had itself generated huge carbon emissions... The mounds of rubbish left by the 65,000 concert-goers at Wembley further tarnished the event's green credentials. Organisers claimed most of the waste would be sorted and recycled but the Daily Mail saw little evidence of that taking place. The Alliance for Climate Protection event was organised by Al Gore, the former U.S. vice-president and environmental campaigner.

It led me to this article.
Looks like NBC which broadcast Live Earth Saturday night came in FOUTH in the ratings.

On Saturday, CBS’ 3.8/8 was good enough to win the night. FOX, 3.0/6, came in second, followed by ABC, 2.1/4, and NBC, 1.8/4.
People are giving Gore’s Global Warming the cold shoulder.
Musicians including Bob Geldof, Roger Daltrey and the Pet Shop Boys pointed out that a concert highlighting climate change had itself generated huge carbon emissions..Is there carbon in bull feces?

It was too cold to go to an outdoor concert. Besides, when pop stars get preachy they lose their appeal.

“Especially when we’re using enough power for 10 houses just for (stage) lighting. It’d be a bit hypocritical,” he told AFP in an interview before a concert in Paris.
Whoops.

That goes for loosing politicians also!
SEE!!! I knew they were going to exaggerate the success of LIVE EARTH!
My wife watched the NBC broadcast that evening and said it stunk.
Truly, who didn’t know that this was going to be a complete and total waste of time, space and energy? Show of hands . . . . . . .
See Al, it directly reflected on you as a “human” being (and I use the tem loosely) - a complete and total waste of time, space and energy!!
ha ha {picture of Nelson}
Live Earth.. you know what would be funny? an earthquake bringing down the concert.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
OMG!
The doper-losers were claiming 2 billion!
Are you suggesting that they *gasp* lied?
I was at work when it started. I turned to the local music channel, and saw a group I’ve never heard of all wearing “Just Say No To Nuclear Power” tee-shirts.
I didn’t like their song or thier alleged “message”, and switched to Robot Chicken on youtube.
That’s the sum total of my LIE-Vurth viewing, other than the crapaganda on the news channels
They all think it’s forty years ago. Even the ones who weren’t born then think it.
Madonna will be 50 next year. Yet she has nothing admirable to look back on since childhood, which she never actually left in a way.
What a waste.
