A moviegoer caught secretly recording the sci-fi blockbuster "Transformers" has been charged with unauthorized use of a video camera in a theater in the first arrest under a new New York City law that stiffened penalties for pirating films.

A criminal complaint accuses Kalidou Diallo of slipping a video recorder, video player and remote control into a sneak preview of the film at a Bronx theater Monday night.

"This is the first time someone has been arrested and charged with the new illegal camcording law," City Hall spokesman Jason Post said Thursday.

In May, Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed legislation that upgraded film piracy from a violation with a $250 fine to a misdemeanor that carries up to six months in jail and penalties of up to $5,000.

Actually, the “Giuliani time” phrase arose in connection with a DIFFERENT person, Abner Louima (?sp?). However, both that incident and the Diallo one occurred at about the same time.

For those who didn’t get the last reference I made, Amadou had the misfortune of running into cops using the catch phrase, “It’s Giuliani time!”

Not even close. The phrase 'It's giuliani time' came into play years earlier when PO Justin Volpe sosomized Abner Luima with a stick. And even then the phrase wasn't used by the cops but by Sharpton's cohorts who later admitted that they made it up.....but please do not let the facts get in your way.

Dangus,
All who do remember Amadou Diallo, and spoke of him after he was shot 19 times and killed by 4 criminal NYPD members of the now disbanded infamous “We Own The Night” Street Crimes Unit, know his “profession” was that of a college student of Computer Science, who sold VHS tapes outside a variety store on East 14th St, spoke 3 languages, and was beloved by all who knew him. Read the beautifully, poetically written book by his mother Katiato Diallo, and you will learn that the surname Diallo is more common than Smith in our English speaking environs, not a “wild coincidence of names”. Read the book, Dangus, read it slowly and relish the gifts that “3rd world immigration” shower on our country, sadly so full of racist illiterates like yourself. We would do well as a nation to have more of his cousins, brothers, and contributions of his loving family. Perhaps then, vulgar Know-Nothing nativists, like you have revealed yourself to be, might have the opportunity to have your pathetic existence illuminated in their shadows.
The murderous cops who were aquitted in a show trial in upstate Albany, NY, have never been quoted as yelling “It’s Giuliani Time!” Of course they were the only surviving witnesses to the slaughter, so your misquote is possibly true. It certainly was the operative attitude from the moment Giuliani took office in January 1994, and other uses of the phrase have been frequently reported, most notoriously when torture victim Abner Louima’s lawyer declared it had been used in the 71st Preceinct bathroom by Volpe and his fellow sadist cops, later withdrawn and admitted to have been a rhetorical SOS device to gain media attention.(Loumima suffered in Intensive care unit of Coney Island Hospital for 3 DAYS! before NY 1 sent a cub reporter after a phone call from a nurse on the unit.
Read up and Think up Dangus, you are out of your element commenting on such serious matters. See "Giuliani Time" dvd, read Barrett & Collins "Grand Illusion" if you really want to learn.
