And notice how fast someone like McCain falls out of favor with the Sunday hosts, when they do not toe the liberal line. The constant recycling of the same actors has led me to stop watching these Sunday morning soap operas. I prefer instead to read the thread at FR on Sundays to see if anything interesting comes up.

I thought of Van Hollen as Rahm Emanuel. Mark Kilmer is probably close with a comparison to Terry McAuliffe.

“Chris van Hollen reminded me of former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe before he stopped allowing joint interviews with Republicans.”

It worked. Thanks. Good analysis of that execrable NYT editorial calling for us to leave the Iraqis to the mercy of jihadies.

It is pretty amazing how we have tens of thousands of highly trained, enormously gifted people in this country, qualified to discuss as experts any topic yet the best the Sunday shows can think to do is cycle and recyle the same bit players from the US Senate.

They wouldn't recognize "highly trained, enormously gifted" if those people were presented to them on a silver platter. Deadheads.

that execrable NYT editorial calling for us to leave the Iraqis to the mercy of jihadies...

Consistent with NYT history - like washing their hands over what was happening to the Jews in Europe during WWII, just so that the NYT wouldn't be identified with "Jewish causes."

I heard some of the Steffi panel on cspan radio replay, and think that Rich Lowry is finally getting just a bit more assertive. Libs just talk over him, generally - Farid today, and some white-haired lib on H#C Friday night (when Rich was subbing for Sean Hannity.)

Vendenhoevel is just plain crazy, and was so, long before Bush was ever in the White House. Today she repeated that 420,000 people have died in Iraq - Bush’s fault! (Others claim 600,000 have been killed, so I guess her “toned down” rhetoric makes her a “moderate!”)

100000 killings per year means 9000 per month or 300 per day EVERY DAY for the past 48 months.

Just another lib lie!

Woffie: Last night you had a battle with AQ?
General: Duh! We are fighting the enemy; one of my magnificent patrols took action and killed about 15 of the bad guys. I really like this General, he should speak out more.

^^^^^

Every morning the ABC radio news broadcast starts with the number killed by carbombs in Iraq, and the number of American troops killed. They NEVER mention any actions of our military or the results of their actions in numbers — killed or captured, or caches recovered, or bomb factories disassembled, etc.

If anyone is interested, ABC has the Conyers interview at:

http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=3356341

I am going to keep it on hard drive, he makes Biden look smart and he is funny as hell as he makes up the law and revises the Constitution and forgives Clinton of everything.
He gets his talking points directly from DU. Libby was let off to keep him quiet. Hilarious.

Thanks for posting that letter to the UW student.
It is the best description of the warrior/protector that I have ever read.

This is the key point, and one that goes totally over the heads of those who dis’ the military:

” The sheepdogs, the warriors, said “Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference.” You want to be able to make a difference. “

The difference between Republicans and Democrats: With Republicans, the Front on the GWOT is in Iraq, A-stan, the Philippines, Somalia and the Horn of Africa. With Democrats, the Front is in NYC and DC.

For Dhimmicrats the front is in the House and Senate and the "terrorists" they strive to defeat, "by any means necessary," are most Republicans, and all conservatives.

The MSM is in full election mode. They want liberals and we want conservatives. I’m thankful that many of you can stomach watching them spew their lies so I can know what they are up to. When the time comes we will be ready!

There was some talk about Domenici being under investigation for ethical lapses

Domenici called the libs "golden boy U.S. Attorney" David Iglesias and asked him when he was going to indict the corrupt dems in the NM State government just before the '06 election, as he had every reason to do. He's been slammed by the lib press on it. NM is Bill Richardson's dem fifedom, and Pete has a hard row to hoe to get elected next year in any case.

That said, I'm disappointed in Pete's role in the shamnesty debacle...he didn't vote no until it was apparent the bill was dead. I'm waiting to see if he has a primary opponent before I make my mind up on whether to vote for him again....I probably will.

One of the most infuriating questions being posed by
the lame-stream-media is: “Why hasn’t America been
attacked again?”

For the most part (not all — there really are some experts
who do know their stuff), the lame-stream media provides
ignorant and/or fuzzy answers.

If one is a regular Threat Matrix reader you know:

1. Jihad is an everyday way of life for a jihadi. When
and if a window of opportunity opens AND the means
is provided; the individual jihadi and/or a cell will attack.

2. Jihadis, Al-Qaeda in particular; are very motivated,
focused and patient.

3. Many jihadis overseas have been arrested, detained,
captured, or killed. A good number of leaders are in
custody. This helps the wot/gwot.

4. The ability to listen to the chatter via the phone lines
AND monitoring the internet has helped a whole lot.

5. Better human intelligence than before 9/11/01.

6. God has blessed us and may He continue to do so.

Anyway, I am not an expert, and this is one housewife’s
opinion and I stand by it.

If you all get a chance, stop by The Threat Matrix and
see what’s going on.

Until next week...

Cindy

Conyers: “This is not partisan in any way whatever.”

Me: "BFS!"

(The first word is Bull; the last two are unrepeatable.)
