London - An estimated two billion people worldwide have watched the Live Earth concerts on the television. The shows designed to highlight climate change were organised in Australia, Asia, Europe, South Africa and the United States. Dozens of stars such as Crowded House, Madonna and The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in cities which included Sydney, New York and London.
The global series of concerts kicked off in Sydney Australia where the show started with a traditional welcome dance by members of the Aboriginal community. Live Earth is the brainchild of former US presidential candidate Al Gore. He opened the event in Washington, and spoke to the public in Tokyo via satellite, saying it was high time to heal the planet. Live Earth is ending with a concert in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday evening.
Also, you’ve got to remove from the earth population:
- young children - i.e. 1-5
- people in hospitals
- most of the middle east - It’s the saturday jewbashathon on al jazeera I believe
- people in prisons
- people at work
And really, you have watching this concert, a quite amazing 150% of the worlds tv viewing population.
Well done Gore!
I’ll bet the 40% of ExxonMobil shareholders who stomped up and down at the annual meeting demanding Exxon act more responsibly all watched it.
Another reason to throw the TV out.
Because they know that 99.78% of all statistics are made up on the spot
Damn, I missed it.
Now that crap will cause global warming. It is a hysterical lie.
You know - I've got that here on DVD - better to watch that again than to even consider watching Gore's Folly.
i cranked my a/c down low enough to cause frost to form on all the windows.....that help?
Probably when you consider that most homes in the US, Western Europe, Japan and Australia have multiple TVs. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that there are more TVs in the US than there are people. However, I don't think there is a chance in hell that there are 2 billion people in the world who have TVs in their homes.
I hear it’s coming to DC.
They can invite George Romero and the Exxon Mobil zombie-voters now holding a slight majority over those with fire in their eyes demanding Exxon get off its arse and help out.
How do they know 2 billion people watched it?

you know how liberals count...................
The number two billion sounds cool. That’s why it was used. And 99.97 % of serious scientists agree that the Gospel of Gore is true. Peace be to the Prophet Algore.
With the worlds population around 6.7 billion and approximately 3.8-4.0 billion living in moderate to extreme poverty (according to the World Bank they are living on less than $1 to $2 per day) I also doubt that a majority of the 2+ billion left are even aware of this scam of a concert!
Pascal's Global Warming Wager: Amen and Hallelujah!
They have no idea. They made up a big impressive number for the evening news to report. This is similar to whenever any lefty group has a protest they say at least 100,000 showed up. Closer scrutiny usually shows about a dozen real protesters and 2 or 3 dozen who are there because they thought they were boarding the bus to the methadone clinic.
I briefly tuned in this morning and saw some chick band wearing "Say No to Nuclear Power" tee shirts - useful idiots all.
Did the same people who counted the Million Man March work this one?
Oh yeah? Well, I've got my a/c cranked down low enough to frost the windows, plus I've got slaughtered and dressed out endangered species hanging in the living room.
*Snicker* Good catch, mate..!
Saw some hot babes on stage. Wonder if theyll ever find husbands..........
the might find burnt out wired bags of poor protoplasm and marry them...they say there’s somebody for everybody on god’’s green earth.....kumbaya....my pothead kumbaya.
