London - An estimated two billion people worldwide have watched the Live Earth concerts on the television. The shows designed to highlight climate change were organised in Australia, Asia, Europe, South Africa and the United States. Dozens of stars such as Crowded House, Madonna and The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in cities which included Sydney, New York and London.
The global series of concerts kicked off in Sydney Australia where the show started with a traditional welcome dance by members of the Aboriginal community. Live Earth is the brainchild of former US presidential candidate Al Gore. He opened the event in Washington, and spoke to the public in Tokyo via satellite, saying it was high time to heal the planet. Live Earth is ending with a concert in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday evening.

I find that extremely hard to believe as well.
It is/was saturday afternoon/night and you’re telling me around a 1/4 of the planet was sitting down watching a concert with mainly average performers for a cause they really know next to nothing about?

I find it quite staggering that the communist dictators in that part ofn the world would allow such an event to go ahead knowing that their regime and economic expansion is now one of the leading causes of pollution.

They come up with an estimate based on no actual data and the media dutifully reports it. Later when they realize that they actual number was only a small percentage of this, they will just bury the report.
Just out of curiosity, what is the Earth’s population? Did they take everyone who could have seen it world-wide and use that figure for their “estimated”? I am happy that I stay true to myself and did not see any of it.
