ENID, Okla. - Detectives arrested a 12-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister for allegedly abducting their neighbor's 1-year-old son and demanding $200,000 for his return.
Brandon Wells was safe back at home Thursday night, hours after intruders broke into his family's residence and took him while his mother, Sheila Wells, slept, police said.
"I've been doing this 18 1/2 years, and this is the first time I know of when a 10- and a 12-year-old kidnapped a 1-year-old," said police Capt. Dean Grassino. "It definitely ranks up there with the unusual crimes."
Okay.. that was unexpected.
I guess the paper route and lemonade stand just does not pay enough....
The baby was back with his mother in approximately one hour, the mom of the two girls saw him in her house and recognized him, while she was looking for the phone number of the neighbor the 12 yr old went and knocked on the door and told Sheila Wells and her 10 yr old sister had kidnapped the baby. Very strange girls.
I wonder just where did a 12 and 10 year old concoct such ideas??
Oh right - the idiot box was likely their nanny.
Cue the Libs: They learned it watching Law & Order! Fred Thompson is on that show! See what kind of kids we’ll have if Fred Thompson is President! [/libs]
Yeah, I guess we were in on the wrong racket when we were kids.
One is almost temtped to believe it was a comedy script.
But these days, one never knows.
I guess I shouldn't expect that there was a well-thought plan after they made their initial demand.
They were waiting for that Drunk 11 yr old from California to drive over and pick them up.
I thought $100 was a lot when I was 12. It probably wouldn’t have occured to me to ask for $200,000.
This is how I envisioned The Sopranos going on after the black out ending.
Tony ends up whacking Sil in the hospital and Paulie at his momma's graveside. Then he recruits pre-teens from the 'burbs to run protection and kidnapping rackets on the upper-middle class based on the Mexican mobs.
At least that is how I saw The Sopranos continuing after the sudden black out ending.
Hindsight 20/20...
These kids just let their imaginations run away with them.
Too much “Nancy Drew”.....or “CSI”?
A new gang to rival the Latin Kings??
OKOKOK...next time I buy the Girl Scout cookies, OK?
Whenever I read about things like this, I think of The Doors “The End”:
Lost in a roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain
