Dearest readers:
Over the last few weeks, a number of you have written to inquire about my father's health. The letters came from around the world from folks who I otherwise would have never met if not for the glorious invention called the Internet.
To those who wrote, I've tried to be positive. After all, given where my father was just a few short months ago -- his life literally hanging in the balance, attached to a respirator -- the fact that he is alive despite what the doctors were preparing me for, is nothing short of miraculous.
As I said then, I believe in the power of prayer to alter destiny. The same is true of doing acts of kindness in anothers merit.
It worked previously, and I am LITERALLY praying it works again.
When my father was hospitalized this spring, doctors discovered a situation that for some unknown reason -- and despite his regular checkups -- was never previously found. In the last few days, the family was informed that emergency surgery is needed. Its scheduled for early next week.
**PLEASE pray in any language that you want and do acts of kindness for Yehuda ben (Hebrew: son of) Rivka. An act of kindness can be making somebody smile, holding a door open, not getting angry, offering somebody a ride, giving charity. The idea is to make the world a better place in my father's merit.
To the many, many prayer warriors out there, PLEASE alert as many folks as possible to my father's situation in general. Not, just of any impending surgery. Time is of the essence!**
There will be an update on JWR's front Page: http://www.JewishWorldReview.com/
** Previously, a number of readers actually wrote to condemn me for making personal requests of my own readers on my own site. Im hoping that you, my dear readers, will care enough to PLEASE heed my request.**
Tomorrow's issue is being finished. Im not sure what will happen after that for the immediate future.
Though we are not supposed to rely on miracles, they DO happen. And its my sincere wish that in my father's case that they will happen again!
Im counting on JWR's collective merit of tens of thousands of good people that the Giver and Sustainer of All Life alter my father's destiny.
In gratitude and friendship, Binyamin L. Jolkovsky Editor in Chief

May it be that the Giver and Sustainer of All Life grant the desire of this son’s heart, that his father would be restored and given the fullness of years, that others might know that it is His hand, and His hand alone, that holds the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:10.

And it will keep Mr. Rivka in my thoughts when I silently mention his name every time I do any of those act this month mentioned by his son.
