In the aftermath of the immigration bills defeat, supporters on both the left and the right have wondered how compromise legislation, containing so many proposals that Americans seemed to back in polls, could have won so little public support. Many of the bills backers seem to be missing the point: what killed it was not opposition to any single proposal, but rather the publics overall cynicism on immigration. Ordinary citizens simply dont trust our leaders on this subject any longer, and until the presidentsome presidentand the Congress gain back their trust, its unlikely that well have any comprehensive reform.

Like a broken record, it goes on and on and on and on and on.....always in the same place.....
Most important steps for illegal immigration control:
1) Enforce Employer & Landlord Sanctions
2) Enable Local Law Enforcement to Apprehend and hold for ICE all Illegals.
3) Build the fence now.
I’ll be blunt. Even if I trusted the gov’t to enforce all those promises, which I don’t, I still would have been against the bill.
It was too complicated and at the end of the day, it still would have increased our 3rd world immigrant numbers by unacceptable numbers.
Vigilantes? Indeed (watchmen).
Racists? Guilty as charged - against the race of those who won't enforce all the friggin' laws we already have.
We will see comprensive reform, in Congresses mind, when they believe that the American people have become bored with the whole thing. All they are doing now is waiting until that bordom takes hold and they’ll be back, trying again. Don’t let go of this one. It’s one of the most important items we have to deal with. As I have said, cut our taxes down to bare minimum and they can’t do a thing. Give them only enough taxes to support the important stuff like our military. The reason they put all the pork into bills is because they have too much money.
The only thing I would have added was the Bush Admin only building 13 miles of fence when it has funding for 30 times that much. Just the latest example of how the fedgov shows it simply is not serious about enforcement.
The invasion continues...
NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING!!!
“It was too complicated and at the end of the day, it still would have increased our 3rd world immigrant numbers by unacceptable numbers.”
It was too complicated in order to try and put it past the eyes of *dumb America*. They still think it’s all because of talkradio. LOL!
Add to that, there was not a single section of the bill that bode well for the taxpayers of this country.
Bttt!
Very good article. Thanks for posting. Thanks for all of your pings, gubamyster.
I believe that you are so right, if these 3 things were done
we would not have an illegal alien problem.
“NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING!!!”
Correct.
“NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING!!!”
Correct.
Sounds good to me. BUILD THE FENCE!!!
