With the White House, the leaders of both political parties, and the media all solidly behind the comprehensive immigration reform bill, how could it be stopped in the Senate, as it was last week? The people stopped it. That is what democracy is all about.
When members of Congress began to be deluged with angry letters, phone calls, and e-mails from their constituents, they knew the game was over and that their careers could be over if they didnt pay attention to what the voters were saying.
This bill was an insult to peoples intelligence from start to finish, and the elites are continuing to insult peoples intelligence after being defeated.
Fraudulent arguments were followed by fraudulent procedures to rush this bill through the Senate without committee hearings, with restrictions on debate, and with the specifics of this huge bill being sprung on the Senate at the 11th hour, so that senators would be voting on something they barely had time to read.
Among the fraudulent arguments was that illegal immigrants were taking jobs that Americans wont do. What that really meant was that they were taking low wages that Americans wouldnt take.
Another fraudulent argument was that We cant find and deport 12 million people.
A much bigger problem than these 12 million people are the tens of millions of additional immigrants who are virtually certain to come in, legally or illegally, if amnesty is extended.
After all, there were only 3 million illegal immigrants the last time an amnesty bill was passed, back in 1986. Thats how we got to 12 million.

I believe you missed my point. I have Never defended Pres. Bush’s immigration policies. Didn’t like them in 2000, don’t like them now.
During that time Americans aborted 13 million.
I recall that as well and remember thinking to myself “These SOBs are obviously emboldened to the point where they can now come out and announce their intentions in public because — after decades of government school INDOCTRINATION — the public no longer gives a damn.”
“Still defending the indefensible Mr. Bush?”
Apparently, you either never backed the President or you’ve turned on him. Either way, not someone I have much time for. You can disagree with some of our President’s decisions (he made himself clear on his immigration stance before 2000, I understood that before I voted for him), but your attitude is no different than than the Rinos.
I don’t have to defend Pres. Bush. History will judge and I believe defend him.
Have a nice day
Its at least 8 million in Cali Aztlan alone. Not counting anchor baby human shields.
This guy is one of our finest intellectuals, and he’ll never get credit for it in the egghead sets, because he’s a black conservative. He far outstrips the vast, vast majority of pundits in the mental candlepower department.
Once again, this man has taken actions (more correctly, INACTIONS) which, if allowed to run their course, would CHANGE THIS COUNTRY FOR THE WORSE — FOREVER — by importing Mexico’s POVERTY along with the 12 to 20 million (PLUS the FOLLOW ON MILLIONS of relatives).
He could cure cancer tomorrow and I would never forgive him for his idiotic immigration stance as I don’t think I’d want to live a long, cancer-free life in the redesigned New World Order North America Union he and his elitist One-World pals seek to construct here.
Time was such national sovereignty destroying activities would produce charges of TREASON.
Sadly that they have not produced those charges does not augur well for my six grandchildren.
And if I have to choose between being in YOUR company or that of Thomas Sowell, I’ll take Dr. Sowell every time.

Well said, Dick Bachert
I don’t. They’ve been using that number for about 6 years.
TY.
And, FWIW, I’m leaning toward Hunter.
>Apparently, you either never backed the President or youve turned on him.<
Would you please stand up, hold our flag next to you face, look in a mirror and see if the flags reflection is in your eyes. I expect it will but much dimmer than Dick Bachert’s or mine.
Bush’s eyes do not reflect our flag even slightly.
He is the man who chose to call American patriots vigilantes when they chose to stand up and defend our southern border.
He is the man who continues to push for giving China our trade when they broke the trade laws about using commercial airliners for military purposes.
He is the one who continues to refuse to protect our nation from this invasion of Muslim sleepers and foreign nationals.
He is the one who continues to push for the Law of the Seas Treaty which will enable the UN to become a self sufficient world wide organization thats only goal is to crush individual liberty. By the way, individual liberty is the foundation of freedom in America.
No Sir, neither Dick Bachert nor myself have turned on Bush. Bush has turned on America!
“Bush obviously thinks securing IRAQS border from incursion by murderous thugs and protecting the decent IRAQI citizens from death is more important than securing AMERICAN borders and AMERICAN CITIZENS!”
Bush has been promoting illegal immigration for years.
Draw your own conclusions as to why!
The bill was an outright insult to those people who are American citizens. That bill would had very much cheapened my being a law abiding and respectful citizen of the USA.
You cant get a credit-card application approved in 24 hours.
Seems like one can get "instant credit" most anywhere nowadays!
“No Sir, neither Dick Bachert nor myself have turned on Bush. Bush has turned on America!”
Refusing to protect the borders after 9/11 was it for me!
Me too. Considering our choices in the last two presidential elections, Bush was by far the best. I was willing to take my chances with his chance on immigration just to keep the other jerks out of the White House. I still shudder when I think of how close we came to having Gore as president.
The banking industry is willing to take a chance on many more than they used to with credit and credit cards. With the penalties they can hook anyone who gets behind with, they more than make up for the ones who skip out on them.
I think there are 10 or so OBL’s left. Most are low profile : )
