uly 8 has been designated Pride Night at Petco Park, where San Diego Gay Pride supporters can attend the Padres baseball game at a discounted price, be given group recognition on the signboard, and hear the Gay Men's Chorus sing the National Anthem.
El Cajon-based Set Free Ministries, a 25-year-old ministry "dedicated to reaching out to the homeless, the addicted, the afflicted, the lost and the hopeless," has announced plans to protest the event by distributing fliers to families entering Petco Park spelling out their objection to so-called "gay pride."
Pride Night coincides with a promotion where kids 14 and younger will get a free floppy cap, thus occasioning unwanted exposure to the gay pride movement by thousands of young children. J. D. Loveland, the Set Free Ministries development director, told the San Diego Union-Tribune that his organization wouldn't have a problem with Pride Night if it didn't coincide with the floppy cap promotion.
We have absolutely no hard feelings with the gays and lesbians, the Padres or anybody, Loveland said. It's just that (the promotion) happened and it shouldn't have happened.

Jeez, I’m a Giants fan, a team that resides in SF of all places and there hasn’t been a “Pride Night” at a Giants game in recent years.
FWIW “gay days” at Walt Disney World was pretty uneventful this year ,,, either that or the Chamber of Commerce spoke with the Sentinel beforehand...
Not a problem. I'll just avoid the whole park and even that whole part of the world.
“Not a problem. I’ll just avoid the whole park and even that whole part of the world.”
Excellent idea as the parks at least around here are full of illegals, their tossed dirty diapers and other debris during the days, and Homosexuals at night.
The City Park ain’t what it used to be.
I find that difficult to believe. There's no point in holding an event to show that you're proud of homosexuality if you're going act indistinguishably from others.
I predict that their behavior will make it clear that they're not a group from the VFW who picked up a block of cheap seats!
Now we have -- "Heteros should just stay out of that part of the baseball stadium!"
I wonder why the gays need to go down to that park to celebrate, they’ve got all of Hillcrest for their special activities. We left that part of the country five years ago and we’re never going back.
I've got a bad feeling that "ball cap" doesn't mean the same thing as baseball cap in this context.
ROFL
Eeeew.
I was at Disney World during the end of Gay Days once. It was very uneventful. James Dobson had me convinced they were mating in the streets but all I saw were families with kids.
The night of July 8 = Sunday = The Sabbath...but even worse, the day of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
No way they’ll stay in the closet as Disney’s network cameras shine. If a silent gayness was desired, they’d have picked one of those 12:30 midweek businesspersons’ special start times.
Don’t be fooled.
There’s a road that goes through the middle of the reservation (Chickatawbut Rd.) that opens at 8 AM and closes at 8 PM. There is an overlook onto Boston and the dirty busturds cruise there from 8:05 AM until closing — right in front of families and children. They don't even try to hide what they are doing.
Most of these deviates are married and have families — that’s how AIDS got into the female population.
They totally repel me. Yuck!
don-o - could you ping wagglebee as well to relevant articles? I’m taking a little break (have been for a few weeks) from freeping.
(I know so many parks and beaches I used to go to that are off limits now! Grrr!)
Maybe because more attention is being paid to what a crime-ridden hellhole Orlando and Kissimmee are.
