I shudder at the thought..
Rolly polly bugs don’t bother me too much but some of the other ones do.
Hey, there!
Cool thread! If I hadn’t just had a huge meal, it
would be making me hungry!
Happy 4th!
LOL!
We used to play rolly-polly bug bowling when we were
kids.
I was NEVER tempted to eat one. Ugh!
Guess I was a picky eater then, too. :D
Don't be confused by the Northern term of BBQ. It means put'n food on the grill and cookin' it. Could be any number of things! But some kind of sauce is usually involved.
Roasted corn (water soaked & in the husk) on the grill is one of my favorites. I like to spice it up with pepper and hot sauce!
I rolly polly bowling..Howling LOL.
I used to fly the big Green June Bugs..
I love grilled meat...but usually forego the sauce. It just messes up the flavor. But, it’ll be lovely because it will be with friends.
The corn sounds great! We had grilled mixed veggies...they were good, too. They used an olive oil-based, seasoned salt sort of flavoring.
We did too!!!!!
Tied strings around their little “necks” and let them fly around like teensy kites. Fun!
We caught jumbo grasshoppers (about 4 inches long) and kept them and fed them leaves...and even meat. They ate it, too. :D
We liked to catch tadpoles and wait till they made frogs.
We put the little brown June bugs in jars. I am not sure why...they are so disgusting to me now! :D
The top recipe rating is mine, with the seasonings I used!
I like Sonny’s Sauce, but not their beef (they must’ve tortured the cows to death!).
I love Rudy’s lean Beef, but hate their sauce (too watery).
Thanks, and a Happy Independence Day to you! Gotta work a festival tomorrow night, but should be around Wednesday. I’m hopin’ that the kiddos come this way on Wednesday. One way or the other, I am going to see Adelaide THIS WEEK.
Gotta scoot, thanks for all the fun!
God Bless all our Troops and Veterans who fight and have fought to keep us free.
*HUGS*
I tied their back leg...It was pretty fun until they landed in your hair..
Did plenty of lightening bugs in mason jars...
Don’t like to touch bugs now..ick..
I used to walk up to my local storefront to order there and watch them make the pizzas. Although I didn't see anything special in the way the employees made them (nobody was throwing hand-tossed pizza crusts into the air, for instance), the product was consistently good.
Nite, Lauren!
Give Adelaide a smooch from Aunt LUV!
God bless you for all you do for our troops!
((((hugs))))
night lauren.
Have a good day tomorrow...
Have a good lunch tomorrow. I've never roasted peppers because it seems like too much trouble and then rubbing the skins off, but I love peppers on my pizza, on my Italian beef, in my potato salad, pickled, let me count the ways I like them, stuffed, can't forget that.
I don't want no peppers on or in my barbeque though :-). I think Manwich which I used to kind of like had peppers in it though. I never buy it any more, make my own BBQ's when I want the ground beef kind, sloppy joes we call them, can't get those as good as the ones way long ago on the golf course or the ones at the A&W which went out of business here.
Ice in a burger...who’d a thunk it.
We don’t have lightning bugs here. But we did do that at
my grandparents’ house.
It’s too dry and deserty here for them. I love lightning bugs, but like you, I don’t think I’d catch them now. Ugh
Buy a pork roast when they are on sale and grind it yourself.
You can adjust the seasonings yourself..It will freeze fine.
Great recipe...try it!
I have had three really big party's over the last 4 years or so. Each one was in celebration of the former 2LT’s safe return from Iraq.
It is going to be weird to have a big party again with no apparent reason to party, but somehow....I’ll get over that.
Pictures will follow.......
