Hours after the Senate voted against advancing the immigration reform project, the Mexican activist Elvira Arellano announced a campaign of resistance against the U.S. government.
In a written statement, the leader of the movement Familia Unida (United Family) said that “if the Democrats and the Republicans cannot summon the courage to fix the broken law we will not sit quietly and see our families and our children cut to pieces on the broken pieces of that broken law.”
She demanded an immediate moratorium on all raids and deportations.
Arellano, who has remained in a Northwest Side church since August 15 to avoid an order of deportation, said this would be the deadline the government will have to “revive and pass a comprehensive immigration reform.” Otherwise, pro-immigrant organizers will begin a campaign “aimed at bringing this government and this economy to a halt.”
Representatives from the Centro Sin Fronteras and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights also announced this morning they were prepared to take “economic actions” against corporations that support anti immigrant legislators and programming.
Also, a massive concentration of families and children is scheduled for July 17 in Washington D.C. to “confront the leaders of both parties and the President.”

Sorry, parking a bus is stupid ... It requires ICE agents willing to perform there duty and arrest illegals before you need a bus.
If you just park the bus, the illegals might just use it as an excuse to have a small riot and destroy the bus.
What is really required is an administration with the backbone and manpower to enforce the laws of this country, quickly and justly.
The failure to continue to do so is a failure of our national will and that of local law enforcement to turn over a major portion of the task to the federal authorities.
And the fed’s are woefully understaffed and have not been provided the funds to do the job.

That is a HUGE incentive for pregant illegals to illegally enter. That incentive absolutely, positively must end. It’d be nice if it were retroactive.

If “indigenous people” want this country back then they can have it so long as they get it back in the same condition it was when we started to improve it. They do not get it. The “country” they are talking about is just land. This country is not simply real estate. This COUNTRY is what many people have made it into with our system of government, our culture, our laws. So, if they want to compensate for the people who have died in wars, all the capital improvements and so forth then we can start to talk. All of this is why our piece of real estate is so much more appealing than those pieces of real estate that they fled. We’ll take our roads and everything else with us.
The law isn't broken - it just isn't being enforced. So sorry, lady. The American people are demanding more raids and deportations.

The buses referred to are to be used to faciltate the removal of all the illegals upon their arrest. Since they are going to gather in one place, that’s where our agents should be. They’re not there to look pretty. Sheesh!

It's past time for the police to storm that church and arrest her, and the good padre who is giving her safe haven! He is an accessory to a crime, after the fact! They both need to go to jail, and then she needs to be deported!
