Nearly nine out of 10 journalists who made political donations gave to Democrats or left-wing groups, according to a bombshell new investigation into media bias - and perhaps the most shocking name on the list was the writer of "The Ethicist" column for The New York Times.
The probe by MSNBC investigative reporter Bill Dedman revealed the names of 144 employees - reporters, editors, producers - from media organizations nationwide who have lined the candidates' pockets since '04.
Underscoring the leftward tilt of the press, 125 of the workers, or 87 percent, ponied up only to Democrats and liberal causes, while just 17 chipped in only to Republicans. Two reporters gave to both parties.
Candidates are required to file with the Federal Election Commission the names of all donors and their employers, which provided MSNBC the starting point for its investigation.
The majority of political donors on the list work for mainstream daily newspapers and wire services.
Others come from ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as two donors from Fox News Channel and three from Fox affiliates around the country. Fox is the only one of the four networks that doesn't bar employees from making such contributions.
Codie Brooks, a researcher for Brit Hume's "Special Report" on Fox News, bundled $2,600 from friends and donated it to the Tennessee Senate campaign of Democrat Harold Ford Jr. A handful work in radio, including National Public Radio's Corey Flintoff, who gave $538 to Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign.
Timesman Randy Cohen, whose column "The Ethicist" is syndicated nationally, donated $585 to MoveOn.org in 2004 as the rabidly left-wing group was going full-throttle in its effort to oust President Bush, end the Iraq war and bounce a slate of other Republican candidates from office.

We FReepers are generally a civil lot and give each other's postings due consideration, so there's no need to 'shout' in all-caps. And upper-and-lower-case is actually easier to read.
We also tend to cut newbies a bit of slack while they're learning the ropes. But unwarranted name-calling is frowned on. Word to the wise, eh?
“About time it’s called the LIBERAL MEDIA. “
I call them Mediacrats
You mean someone from Fox, that right wing network, gave the MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE UNDER LAW to a black Democrat party operative?!
Gosh. Sounds fair and balanced to me.
“Nearly nine out of 10 journalists who made political donations gave to Democrats or left-wing groups”
and the lib/dems want a fairness doctrine????
Ahh... I see we have a new parameter for identifying “Liberal scumbag Democrats” — using lowercase... LOL!!

When 62% of white males voted other than for Bill Clinton, a 12% disparity, the press branded us as "angry white males".
This MSNBC probe, like others before it, show that the press runs about 87% against Republicans and conservatives, a 37% disparity. Perhaps the "liberal kneepad press" brand should be applied here.
